4 Introduction Genevac produce a range of sample holders and accessories that can be used to enhance the performance and increase the flexibility of Rocket Synergy and Rocket 4D Synergy high speed evaporation systems. Sample holders are manufactured using high quality materials such as boroscilicate glass and high grade alluminium. Where applicable, seals can be specified in low leachable viton or in highly resistant perfluoroelastomer. Maintenance of sample holders The Rocket evaporator controls pressure levels in inner and outer vacuum chambers independently and sample holders form part of the seal between these chambers; it is therefore vitaly important that a perfect seal is formed around each of the sample holders. To achieve this, the sample holders must be maintained in good condition and must be used correctly. Sample holders must be clean and free from imperfections around the area of the sealing surfaces; chips, scratches or labels applied to the flasks may cause leaks which can slow down the evaporation process. 5 Limitations of use This brochure contains informantion on a range of accessories and sample holders that are intended for use with Rocket Synergy and Rocket 4D Syenrgy evaporators. Some of the accessories and sample holders are also compatible with earlier ( pre-synergy ) Rocket evaporators, although limitations may apply. Where limitations do apply, they shall be indicated as shown in the following example: For use with Rocket 4D Synergy feed systems only In this example, the accessory must not be used with any system other than that which is specified. Colour variation of surface finish For some components the colouring of surface finish may vary slightly from batch to batch; for instance, one batch of vial adapters may appear darker than another. Where this occurs it does not affect the performance or integrity of the component Issue 1-14 October
