1 Retrfit Kits DLC will accept QPL applicatins fr SSL Retrfit Kits. The testing and reprting requirements described belw are intended t subject the retrfit kits t cnditins in typical fixtures in rder t assure cnfidence in perfrmance. Fr testing purpses, DLC specifies typical fixture husings fr retrfit prducts t be tested in. This is dne t prvide testing results under cmmn cnditins that the retrfit kits wuld be installed in. In prviding this list f typical fixture husings, DLC des nt endrse r exclude any particular make r mdel frame fr use in energy efficiency prgrams. Nte that in each recmmended variatin we state, r Pre-apprved Equal. In selecting a fixture fr testing the applicant shall cnsider the purpse f subjecting the tested kit t extreme cnfinement fr thermal endurance. Applicants shall test and reprt fixture perfrmance under the fllwing restrictins and cnditins. Required Tests & Reprts All DLC QPL testing and reprting requirements that apply t new fixtures shall als apply t any retrfit kit applicatin e.g.: LM79, ISTMT, IES file, TM-21 prjectin etc. (Nte that fr lumen maintenance testing, the surce manufacturer is respnsible fr the LM80 test f the LED package, array, r mdule). LM-79 reprts fr retrfit kits shuld nt be submitted via LED Lighting Facts. Fixture Level Tests LM79, ISTMT and Optin 2 f LM80 (if selected), shall be cnducted in a fully functinal reference fixture with the kit prperly installed per manufacturer s instructins. Only ne LM79, ISTMT, IES file is needed fr the retrfit kit t be tested n ne f the fixtures apprved belw. Depending n which ptin yu chse t use fr lumen maintenance cmpliance will determine hw many tests yu need. If yu chse Optin 1: ne LM80 reprt and TM-21 prjectin is needed. If yu chse Optin 2: yu will need tw LM79 reprts t test the retrfit kit fr 0hrs and then 6,000hrs in the fixture.

2 Installatin Instructins Installatin instructin sheets must be submitted with the applicatin t indicate hw the retrfit kit will be installed in an existing fixture in the field. Safety Certificatin Dcumentatin Dcumentatin f safety certificatin fr the retrfit kit must be submitted with the applicatin. This dcumentatin must indicate safety certificatin has been btained. DLC staff will nt interpret safety testing as prf that safety certificatin has been btained. Pre-Apprved Equals As nted, DLC des nt endrse r exclude any particular make r mdel f reference fixture. Optins listed are intended t illustrate cmmn fixtures f that type. Manufacturers may test in alternative fixtures t thse listed, with pre-apprval frm the DLC. Pre-apprved fixtures must meet the fllwing cnditins: - Alternative fixtures must be cmmnly used in the applicatin categry intended t be applied fr. Dcumentatin may be required t demnstrate fixtures apprpriate use if questins arise. - Alternative fixtures must prvide similar thermal envirnments t thse listed. Particularly, alternative fixtures may nt be significantly different in internal vlume r cnstructin materials. Retrfit Kit Applicatin Categries Manufacturer shall select a fixture fr testing based n the intended applicatin f the retrfit kit: Outdr Area & Radway Luminaires If the kit is specific t shebx fixtures (nt applicable t cbraheads), chse a fixture frm amng thse listed herein under shebx. 3 Kits designed fr larger-sized husings must demnstrate that they d nt fit in the smaller husing sizes by submitting a CAD file with the kit installed in the reference small cbrahead (see attached). Applicatin Review DLC shall lg, analyze and evaluate retrfit kit applicatins in accrdance with prcedures fllwed fr any individual fixture applicatin: 1) fr cmpleteness and accuracy f the filed applicatin data and 2) fr qualificatin accrding t DLC categry specificatins. Fr retrfit kit applicatins DLC will apply the apprpriate categry and the specificatin values which are in effect as f the date f applicatin submissin.
