4 TD1 TILE SOLUTION TD1 tile arrays are made up of five key components working in concert to create seamless, brilliant, large format displays for nearly any environment. Each system consists of an array of tiles, image processors, Display Manager software, and one of many framing options. Prysm offers both standard configurations for industry-wide applications, such as airport dioramas, retail vertacular displays, and sports ribbons as well as highly customized configurations where the only limitation is your imagination. Tile The TD1 tile is the heart of the system. Consisting of three parts the phosphor panel, laser engine, and laser processor it is designed to be lightweight and easily assembled into any configuration. Offering 320x240 pixel resolution with a 25 inch diagonal display, TD1 tiles create beautiful, dynamic displays that can be comfortably viewed from almost any distance and from almost any angle. Image Processor Large scale displays can be difficult to calibrate and adjust requiring hours of expensive setup and maintenance over the life of the system. Prysm s solution to this challenge is our Image Processor (IP1). The IP1 accepts all standard video and graphic formats, delivering image content to the display while providing system wide control, monitoring, and calibration. Multiple Image Processors can be chained together for larger displays. Display Manager Software The built-in, browser based Display Manager software is the main interface for managing the display during operation. Display Manager makes quick work of configuring and adjusting the display through a rich feature set including noise reduction, edge enhancement, dynamic brightness, color temperature, and more. System health and status are constantly monitored alerting you to any problems during the system's long life. DISPLAYS AND HEAT Prysm s revolutionary ecovative approach offers extremely low heat output. Unlike other displays on the market, TD1 has no specialized HVAC requirements and can be embedded into a surface just 12 deep. 5 WHAT'S IN AN LPD TILE? Customized Frame Designed to be modular, TD1 tiles include a highly adjustable and configurable frame system to help quickly and easily install and align multiple displays in any imaginable configuration. Power Supply The Tile's robust power supply allows you to daisy chain power from the first PSU to 4 additional PSUs (up to a total of 5) from the first incoming power source. Controlled by the Display Manager, the power supply has multiple power modes for greater energy savings. By rethinking everything, we created an advanced yet elegantly simple solution to the challenge of building low-power yet brilliant highdefinition large format displays. At the heart of the system is the TD1 tile powered by LPD technology. LPD consists of three main parts: the solid state Laser Engine, the Laser Processor, and the Phosphor Panel. Built around the innovative Laser Engine, the TD1 tile is the market s longest lasting display, and its lack of toxic compounds and low energy consumption sets the bar for ecovative display technology. 1 PHOSPHOR PANEL The phosphor panel is a pattern of phosphors layered in a rigid glass or polymer structure. When excited by the Laser Engine, the Phosphor Panel emits red, green, or blue pixels extremely close to its surface, with no image filtering to waste power. This emissive display technology has the highest possible viewing angle (typically twice that of LCDs or LEDs) with no pixel burn-in or failure. The display may be modified with special coatings or substrates for specific viewing needs. 2 LASER ENGINE Built from reliable solid-state laser diodes (similar to a Blu-ray player) the Laser Engine generates a fan-shaped array of modulated laser beams that energize the Phosphor Panel. To completely cover the display area the beams are directed by mirrors creating the necessary number of image lines. Combined with a fast refresh rate of 240 Hz, this results in high-quality, flicker-free video with no motion blur. 3 LASER PROCESSOR The brains behind the display, the Laser Processor is a smart technology that manages the Laser Engine, precisely turns the laser on and off, and varies its intensity. This increases the display s efficiency by turning the lasers off where the display is dark; it also defines the color and placement of each pixel.
