Picture Features JVC is known for having exceptional picture quality because to us it is the most important element in a high performance television. That is why every JVC TV has three vital picture and video elements that insure the picture is crisp, clear and has great contrast BLACK LEVEL EPANSION JVC s exclusive Black Level Expansion technology creates dark, rich blacks so that colors become deeper and more vivid. Our chassis designs also make for brilliant whites and a dynamic high contrast picture. Compare the sharp detail and outstanding black colors of the dog in the JVC picture to the ordinary picture. JVC Picture Ordinary Picture DARK TINTED PICTURE TUBE Since picture is so important, we decided this year that every JVC television needs a dark tinted picture tube. The Dark Tinted CRT creates a much greater contrast between darks and lights over a standard CRT, and it increases the depth of the black and dark colors on the screen. (Not available on the 3 inch TV/VCR combos.) Apacon Enhancement Regular APACON Apacon is another standard JVC feature that helps insure that every JVC TV has the exceptional picture quality for which JVC is known. Apacon is a circuit that enhances picture sharpness by sharpening the transitions between dark and bright, by adding preshoot and overshoot, and by speeding up the transition. Apacon makes sure details are enhanced so that the picture is always crisp and sharp.

Whether you listen to the TV's own speakers, or, for stereo models, connect to a HiFi or surround sound system, all JVC TVs sound great. Normal Sound Hyper Surround Sound HYPER SURROUND SOUND A JVC exclusive feature, Hyper Surround Sound creates the impression of a 3-dimensional soundfield using the TV's front firing speakers. Hyper Surround electronically processes stereo audio signals by manipulating the phase relationships and frequency response for a fuller, richer 3-D effect. With Hyper Surround, it sounds like you are right in the middle of the action without the need for extra rear speakers. MTS WITH dbx AND SAP Every JVC stereo television has high performance MTS with dbx for superb stereo sound. Whether you use the TV s already superior sound system, or connect the TV to a multi-channel sound system, it is guaranteed to sound great.* SAP (Second Audio Program) decodes any second language translation that may be part of a program. FRONT FIRING SPEAKERS For richer, fuller sound, all JVC TVs are designed with front firing speakers. Because the speakers are aimed directly at the viewer, a rich, clear sound stream is created that enhances both music soundtracks and dialog. Convenience Features At JVC one of our many goals is to make sure that every television set in our lineup is flexible in operation and customer connections are hassle free. AV COMPU LINK E / HOME THEATER COMPONENT SERIES JVC's AV COMPU LINK E lets select model televisions accept commands from select JVC receiver remote controls, making the TV the heart of the JVC home entertainment system. Simply insert a pre-recorded videotape into your AV COMPU LINK E VCR, or a disc into the COMPU LINK E DVD player, and the receiver will select the proper EQ settings, surround mode, and inputs everything, even the TV, turns on automatically!** TV SPEAKER ON / OFF IN MENU Most JVC stereo televisions allow you to switch the TV s speakers to off when you want to listen to a multi-channel AV receiver sound system. Just as easily, you can switch the speakers back on when you just want to watch the news. SWITCHABLE FIED / VARIABLE AUDIO OUTPUT Use the Fixed Audio Output if you connect the TV sound to a remote controlled AV receiver. Or, switch to the Variable Audio Output if you want to use a non-remote controlled audio system. PLUG IN MENU A feature of true convenience, the Plug In Menu lets you set up what will become your own default menu options. The first time you turn on your TV, the Plug In Menu prompts you to choose the language for the onscreen menus, begin the auto tuner setup so you can scan all channels, and set the clock. AV INPUT With a standard AV Input, every JVC TV is ready for a VCR or video game hardware. Hooking up direct video ensures your movie or video game captures the brilliant picture it's creator intended it to have. The AV input also means that your JVC television is ready for current and future sources of entertainment systems.

4 Standard Features Every JVC TV comes equipped with a core package of great features. CHANNEL GUARD and V-CHIP lock out unauthorized viewers from specific channels and entire time slots. The CLOCK is the heart of all the television timer functions and puts the time a touch of a button away. New this year, DS AUTO CLOCK SET makes setting the clock as easy as possible. The MULTI-FUNCTION TIMER can make it seem like you re home watching TV when you re really not. Or, it can be set to remind you when a favorite program comes on or to wake you up in the morning. The SLEEP TIMER will turn the TV off after a specified amount of time (up to 80 minutes) so you can fall asleep to your favorite show. AUTO TUNER SETUP activates all of the current, active channels so you can scan sequentially without noise or video snow. The simple JVC onscreen menus allow users to easily add or delete channels manually as well. NOISE MUTING places a placid blue screen in the space of channels receiving loud, noisy static (not available on the 3 inch TV/VCR combos). CLOSED CAPTION DECODER w/full TET MODE decodes any captions or other text information that is included in a program such as second audio programming. The DISPLAY shows the status of the TV timers and inputs with a press of the button, or, if you prefer, it can continuously display the time or channel so you always know! JVC's VIDEO STATUS MEMORY lets you select the most desirable picture settings for your unique lighting so you can easily access your "Choice" with the press of a button. TRI-LINGUAL MENUS let you choose the language, English, French or Spanish, for the onsrceen menus and displays. GAME MODE (select models) optimizes the TV s color setup best for video game play. RETURN+ lets you return to a channel via the 0 key pad with regular return, or program a "Return Channel" to be returned to after sequentially scanning the channels (not available on the 3 inch TV/VCR combos). Picture In Picture JVC PIP is the finest in the industry it's simple to use and the picture is bright as can be. Also, all our PIP model TVs have two tuners built-in to eliminate complicated and aggravating hookups. PIP is feature filled Rockin' Oldies! Exclusive! One Time Offer! (800) TUNER PIP JVC s PIP has 5% more pixels than the average industry PIP and is crisp, clear, and versatile. With two tuners built right into the set, you can see two programs at once, or with another video input hooked up, a video and TV. JVC PIP also lets you SWAP the PIP program with the main program, and MOVE it to any corner of the screen. FREEZE JVC PIP also lets you FREEZE a picture in the main screen so you can catch an important phone number, address or just a funny expression. If PIP is already activated, you can FREEZE the PIP screen. MULTI-FUNCTION TIMER PREVIEW JVC PIP models utilize the PIP screen in a unique way. Combining PIP technology and our exclusive Multifunction Timer, JVC PIP models offer a Timer Preview Window. This feature provides a 7 second preview in the PIP screen just before the TV changes to the program you previously timed with the Multi-function Timer.
