3 Safety Precaution This STB has been designed and manufactured to satisfy the international safety standards. Please read the following safety precautions carefully before operating this receiver. Main Supply: Before operating, please check the units operating voltage is 90~250V AC 50/60Hz. Overload: Do not overload a wall outlet, extension cord or adapter, neither use damaged power cord or touch it with wet hand as this may result in electric shock. Liquid: The receiver shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing water, and that no objects filled with liquids, such as base, shall be placed on the apparatus. Ventilation: Keep the slots on top of the receiver uncover to allow sufficient airflow to the unit. Do not put the receiver on soft furnishings or carpets. Do not expose the receiver to direct light or do not place it near a heater or in humid conditions. Do not stack other electronic equipments on top of the receiver. Cleaning: Plug out the receiver from the wall outlet before cleaning. Clean the receiver by a soft cloth or mild solution of washing-up liquid (no solvents). Connection: Disconnect the receiver from the mains when you connect it to satellite LNB or disconnect it from LNB. Failure would possibly cause damage to the LNB. Location: Put the receiver indoor in order to avoid lightening, raining or sunlight. Uncover: Do not remove the cover, to reduce the risk of electric shock. Contact qualified and licensed service personnel to repair the receiver, or contact your dealer. -3-

8 2.3 Remote Control Unit(RCU) You can control this receiver by this remote controller with full function. 1. POWER : Switch the receiver on or set it to standby mode. 2. MUTE : Turn the sound On/Off. 3. NUMERIC KEY (0~9): Change program or input number. 4. SUB: Showing Subtitle information if the channels contains. 5. 10 3. Installation and Connection The following diagram shows you the connections among receiver, TV, LNB and other equipment, please read this first if you are not sure about the connection, and it will guide you to the correct connection. 3.1 Connecting to TV Figure 5. Connecting to TV -10-

13 4. Installation You should installation the receiver when powering on your product for the first time after purchase. 4.1 Powering On 1. Connect the power cord of the product to a wall outlet. 2. Ensure the ON/OFF switch at the rear of the product is switched to ON. 3. Power on by pressing the STANDBY button on the remote control or the STANDBY button at the front of the product. 4.2 Easy Installation Press the MENU key to Select Easy Installation. The Easy Installation window will be displayed. Here you can select satellite, specify DISEqC1.0 and search channels Satellite Press the OK key to enter Satellite list. Press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down)key to choose the satellite which you want to search, then press the OK key to confirm the setting Tip: You can add new Satellite in this menu -13-

15 4.3 Installation Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next)key to Select Installation, Press the OK to enter Installation menu, the Installation window will be displayed, including Antenna Setting and Motorized System Antenna Setting Press the OK to Enter Antenna Setting; here you can select Satellite, make TP search, specify LNB, DISEqC, Motor and choose your Search Type. a: Satellite List Highlight the Satellite menu you can press the OK key to enter the satellite list press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) key to choose the satellite which you want to search, then press the OK to confirm the setting, you can set other parameters. b: Transponder List If you change the satellite, the transponder will be changed automatically. You will find the transponder list of selected satellite here. Choose the transponder you want to use, then press the OK key to confirm the setting, you can set other parameters. c: LNB frequency Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next)button to change the LNB frequency. d:lnb Power: Select the required LNB power. e: 22kHz: Select ON, OFF or Auto f. DiSEqC1.0: Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) button to select the required DiSEqC1.0 input. g. DiSEqC 1.1: Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) button to select the -15-
16 required DiSEqC1.1 input : Motor: Select DiSEqC 1.2 or USALS using the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) key. DiSEqC 1.2: General motor antenna using DiSEqC 1.2. USALS: Motor antenna using USALS. When you Enable this option, and press the OK key, you will get this window to show you how to adjust position of the dish. Position Auto Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) key; the dish will be motorized to East/West continuously, it will stop until it find the best signal. Move Dish The motor can drive only when you hold on pressing thevol-/vol+(previous/next) key. Fine Tuning Set the driving step. Move Step [W/E] Press thevol-/vol+(previous/next) button, the motor will drive several steps according to the Step Size. You can set the maximum motor limit for both East and West to prevent damage to the antenna. When you set Disable the Motor limit setting is released. Store Position: Save current position of Motor. Go to Position: Drive Motor to the position which you saved previous. -16-
17 Go to Reference: Drive Motor to zero point. Go to X.X: Drive Motor according to the USALS Setup Search Type A Satellites Search 1. Press the OK key to enter the satellite list then press thech+/ch-(up/down) key select the satellite and press the OK button. 2. Complete the antenna setting of this satellite. 3. Choose Sat Search in Search Type menu then press the OK button, you can start Satellite search. B:Manual TP Search 1. Press the OK key to enter the satellite list then press thech+/ch-(up/down) key select the satellite and press the OK button. 2. Complete the antenna setting of this satellite. 3. Highlight the Transponder and press thevol-/vol+(previous/next) choose the transponder which you want search 4. Choose TP Search in Search Type menu then press the OK button, you can start TP search. C: blind search 1. Choose one satellite or add a new satellite and press the OK button. 2. Choose Blind Search in Search Type menu then press the OK key, you can start blind search. 3. After searching, it will save all the transponders automatically. -17-
18 D network search 1. Press the OK key to enter the satellite list then press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) key select the satellite and press the OK button. 2. Complete the antenna setting of this satellite. 3. Choose Network search in Search Type menu then press the OK button, you can start Satellite search. 4.After Searching it will save the transponder which search program Motorized System If you connect receiver to DiSEqC 1.2 or DiSEqC 1.3 antenna, set Motorized System to DiSEqC1.2 or USALS, you can change the direction of the dish to aim to the satellite you selected through the option. -18-
19 5. System Setup Press thevol-/vol+(previous/next) key to Select System Setup, press OK to enter. Here you can setup system, RF, Parental Lock, USALS and language setting. 5.1 System Setting Menu->System Setup->System Setting 1.OSD Mixweight: Set the transparency of all menus. 2. TTXT Mixweight: Set the transparency of teletext. 3. TV Type: Set the TV system mode. 4. TV Screen Mode: Set the display format according to the screen ratio. 5. 0/12V: Support 0/12v Voltage. 5.2 RF Setting Menu->System Setup->RF Setting You can set RF output mode PAL/NTSC M/PAL D/K B/G and RF channel Num. -19-
20 5.3 Parental Lock Menu->System Setup->Parental Lock Parental Control allows you to set limits for each programme or change your previous password. You can also lock the changes you have made using Installation Lock, Edit Service Lock and System Lock. 5.4 USALS Setup Menu->System Setup->USALS Setup If you set the Motor Mode to USALS, you need set local the longitude and the latitude in USALS Setup. 5.5 Language Setting 1.Display Language Set the menu language. 2. Main Audio: Set the preferred audio language. 3. Sub Audio: Set the sub-prime audio language. 4. EPG Language Set the EPG language. -20-

Edit Channel 6.1 Edit Channels Menu->Edit Channel->Edit channels Edit Channels enables you to Sort, Edit, Find or Delete the channels in the channel list conveniently Sort Channels Menu->Edit Channel->Edit Channels->Press the RED button Highlight the option you want and press the OK button to sort the channel list. Note: The Original Channel List is back to the channel list you sort it last time Edit Menu->Edit Channel->Edit Channels->Press the GREEN button 1. Lock and Unlock Channels 1) Press the GREEN button then highlight the Lock. 2) Press the OK button then enter the password -21-
22 3 Highlight the channel you want to lock. Then press the OK button. 4) If the highlighted channel is locked, press the OK button is switched into Unlock. 2. Move channels 1) Highlight the channel you want to move. 2) Press the GREEN button then select the Move. 3) Press the OK button to select the channel. 4) Press the YELLOW button then press the NUMERIC (0-9) buttons to the destination in the channel list and press the OK button. 3. Rename channels 1) Highlight the channel you want to rename. 2) Press the GREEN button then select the Rename 3) Enter a channel name directly using the keyboard displayed on the screen. 4) Press the RED button to complete Find channels Press the YELLOW button to can help you quickly find the channel you want. -22-
23 Delete Channels 1) Highlight the channels you want to delete. 2) Press the BLUE button. 3) Press the EXIT button, here, select Yes will delete the chosen channels. 6.2 Edit Favorites Menu->Edit Channel->Edit Favorites You can add or cancel channels from the favorite groups. 1. Press thevol-/vol+(previous/next) button selects the favorite group. 2. Highlight the channels you want to add or cancel to the favorite channel list. 3. Press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) button to change the channel and press thevol-/vol+(previous/next) button to select the favorite group you like. 3. Press the EXIT button to exit the menu and save it. -23-
24 7 Channel List 7.1 OK List 1) Press the OK button to enter the channel list while watching a programme. 2) Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) PGUP/PGDN button to change Page up/down in OK list. 3) Press the RED button to can help you quickly find the channel you want. 4) Press the GREEN button to enter the sort channel menu. 5) Press the YELLOW button change the channel list type. 6) Press the BLUE button can help you quickly find the channel you want. 7.2 Favorite List 1) If you have set several favorite groups, press the FAV button can enter the favorite list. 2) Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) button to change different favorite group and press the OK button can select a programme you like. 3) Press the RED button can move the highlighted channel from the favorite list. 5) Press the GREEN button can rename the favorite group. Note: If you selected a favorite list, press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down)button can only change the channels in this favorite list and press the OK button can only display the channels in this favorite list. -24-
25 8. Basic Operation 8.1 Audio You can select the language you prefer in Audio Language if the current programme is available in multiple audio languages. 1. Press the AUDIO button. 2. Press the OK button to select the audio language you prefer. 3. Select audio direction (Left, Right, and Stereo) using thevol-/vol+(previous/next) button. 4. Press the EXIT button to close. 8.2 Zoom In You can zoom in the current video picture. 1. Press the ZOOM button. 2. Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) CH+/CH-(UP/Down) button to move the icon to the position you want to zoom in. 3. Press the OK button to display. 4. Press the EXIT button to close. 8.3 Satellite You can select the satellite that you want. -25-

Press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) button select the satellite, then press the OK button it can enter the channel list which only includes the channels of this satellite. 8.4 EPG You can view the EPG information of all channels in time and date. 1 Press the EPG button. 2) Press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) button to change channel or EPG event. 3) Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) button to change the date, and it displays the EPG list in one day of the highlighted channel. 8.5 Subtitle You can select the language for the subtitle if the programme provides subtitle information. 1. Press the SUB button. 2. Select the required subtitle language and press the OK button. The subtitle will be displayed in the selected -26-
27 language at the bottom of the screen. 8.6 Teletext You can view the teletext information of this programme. 1. Press the TXT button. 2. Press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) button to page up or page down. 3. Press the NUMERIC (0-9) buttons can go to the designated page directly. 8.7 Timer You can set 8 timer events. It will record or play the program automatically according to the timer event list that you set. 1. Go to Main Menu->Tools->Time Settings -> Timer Event 2. Press the GREEN button to setup a timer, and press the OK button to save the timer after setup. Source: Switch TV and Radio. Channel: Press the VOL+/Next button and using the CH+/CH-(UP/DOWN) button select channel which you want, then press the OK button to confirm the channel. Date: Input the date of the timer. Start: Input the start time of the timer. Stop: Input the stop time of the timer. Repeat: Select the repeat times of the timer. (one time/every day/one week/from -27-
28 Monday to Friday/from Saturday to Sunday). Record: To set if you want to record the timer. 3. In Timer Event menu, highlight one event, press the RED button will cancel this timer and press the YELLOW button can go to edit this timer. 4. When timer record, you can change the channel at the same transponder. 8.8 Sleep You can set the automatic turn off time. 1. Go to Main Menu->Tools->Time Settings -> Sleep 2. Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) button to select the option or input the number at -- Min option. 3. Press the OK button to save. 8.9 time setting Main menu->tools->time Settings->Time Setting You can setup the system time. 1. Timer Mode: Set the system time mode. 4. Time Offset: Set the timer zone according to your city. 5. Summer Time: Set the summer time ON or Off. Note: The time you set will be shown on the front panel when you set receiver to standby mode. -28-
29 8.10Multi Pictures You can view multi programmes at one time. 1. Press the PIP button. 2. Select the mode you want and press the OK button to enter multi-picture. 3. Press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down)/VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) button to switch programme. 4. Press the OK or EXIT button to exit multi-picture PIP Picture You can view the Programme at the same TP. 1. Press the PIP button. And select the PIP. 2. Press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) button select the channel. Which channel you want then press the OK bottom to confirm. 3. Press the YELLOW bottom show the help information Programme Information You can view the programme information by pressing the INFO button while watching a programme : It is a FTA programme. : It is a scramble programme. : Current programme has EPG information. -29-
30 : Current programme has teletext information. : Current programme is locked. Current TP has Radio programme. EPG Information Press the INFO button when the information menu is displayed to view detailed EPG information, press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) to change the detailed EPG information page STB Status Enter Main menu->tools->information In this window, you can get the information about the STB, such as model ID, software & hardware version and so on. When you need service from the dealer, you need to submit this information in order to get the correct and fast after sales service Reset Factory Default Factory Default -30- You can restore the product to the factory default and you can also setup it according to the wizard. Warning: Please note that once you perform Factory Default all, all data and settings will be deleted. 1. Enter Main menu->tools->reset Factory Default-> Reset Type 2. Highlight the option you want and press the OK button to execute it.
31 1) All: All data and settings will be deleted. 2) Channel List Only: All channels data will be deleted. 3) Radio Channel Only: All radio channels data will be deleted. 4) Scramble Channel Only: All scramble channels data will be deleted. Note:after factory default,you can press the power key for 3 seconds,then it will go to the autodiseqc function.it will load the default channels and find diseqc ports automatically User Channel List You can save or load the channel list you want. Main menu->tools->reset Factory Default->Save& load 1) Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) select the save or load. 2) Select the Yes to save or load the channel list. 9. USB Menu You can play many kinds of media files, you can record programme and playback it and you can do various operations when using USB HDD or USB disk. Note: It supports FAT, FAT32, NTFS format USB disk or USB HDD. 9.1 Play Files 1. Go to Main Menu->USB Menu or press the USB button directly to enter the USB menu. 2. Press the VOL-/VOL+(Previous/Next) to select the file type. And Press the MP3 button/the JPEG button/the PVR LIST button directly to menu. 3. Press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) to change the folder or file and press the OK button to open the folder or play the file Movie -31-
32 It supports*.mpg, *.DAT, *.VOB format movie files. You can playback the files you recorded. The recorded files are saved as *.MPG format in the Movie item. OK: View play list or play the selected file in play list. CH +/CH-(UP/Down) : Play the selected file in play list. : Stop playing. I I / PAUSE: Pause. : Fast backward. : Fast forward. I : Play the previous item. I: Play the next item. EXIT: Exit playing state and return to file list menu. INFO: Display playing progress. Press the INFO button again in this menu and press the RED button to jump. AUDIO: Select or change the audio. EXIT: Exit the current menu Music It supports *.mp3 format music files. OK: Play the selected file in play list. CH+/CH-(UP/Down): Change the highlighted item. : Play the selected file in play list. : Stop playing file. I : Play the previous item. I: Play the next item. EXIT: Exit playing state and return to file list menu. 9.2 PIP Recording and Timeshift PIP Recording You can watch another channel while recording a channel or record programmes from two different channels at the same transponder. You can also do many operations while recording. 1. Start Recording 1) You can press the REC key to start recording while watching programme. 2) If you have set the timer, it will start recording automatically according to the start time of the timer. 2. Stop Recording 1) You can press the STOP button to stop recording. 2) If you have set the timer, it will stop recording automatically according to the stop time of the timer. 3) If the free space on the USB HDD or USB disk is insufficient, recording will stop. 3. Record Two Different Programmes -33-
34 1. Press the REC button, and then select NO next show menu 2. You can only record two different programmes from same transponder at the same time. While recording a programme, you can switch to another programme and press the REC button to start recording. 3. At the same time, you can press the CH+/CH-(UP/Down) button change the programme from the same transponder. 4. Recording Information 1. While the recording channel, the recording information show on the TV screen bottom. 2. Press the INFO button can display or hide the information 3. Press the F1 button will show the small window data then press the F2 button you can edit the small window Timeshift Timeshift allows you to pause a live broadcast and return to it later and continue where you left off. 1. Press the INFO button can display or hide the recording information, press the PAUSE/ button can pause or play the programme, press the / button can fast rewind or fast forward. If you change to another programme or do other operations, it will stop timeshift. 3.Press the 0 button set the time that you want. 4. Press the Exit button, you will be asked whether exit or save the program data, select yes or no you want. 9.3 USB tool Upload/Download You can upload or download data or software. 1. Enter the USB Menu. 2. Press the RED button and press the OK button can upload data. 3. Highlight the file you want to download press the OK button can download the file to the receiver Rename/Delete /Move Files 1. Enter the USB MENU. 2. Highlight the file or folder. 3. Press the YELLOW button and highlight the Rename/Delete/Move. 4. Press the OK button can rename/delete/move the file or folder Create Folder 1. Enter the USB menu. 2. Press the YELLOW button. 3. Highlight the Create Folder. 4. Press the OK button to create a new folder in current folder. -35-

37 10. Additional Information 10.1 Problem Solving You might meet abnormal working of this STB with various reasons, check the following which may help you.
