8 DQMx ENCODER C o l l e c t i o n E N C O D E ASI/8VSB/QAM to QAM DQMx is a 4:1 multiplexer that accepts up to four inputs in ASI, 8VSB, and QAM formats, and delivers one output in QAM format in the MHz range. Two types of input modules are available (ASI and 8VSB/QAM), and any combination of input modules is allowed - for example DQMx can be equipped with 2 ASI and 2 8VSB/QAM input modules. R C O ASI, 8VSB, QAM Each ASI input module can process up to twelve channels, not to exceed 270 Mbps. Each 8VSB/QAM input module can process up to twelve channels, not to exceed 19.4 Mbps for 8VSB or 38.8 Mbps for QAM 256. The QAM-modulated output can contain up to twelve channels, not to exceed 38.8 Mbps when operating in QAM 256 mode. 9 Features/Operation DQMx Inputs Two (2) types of input modules are available: ASI and 8VSB/QAM The DQMx unit can be configured with a total of four (4) input modules Can mix & match both types of input modules on the same DQMx unit The ASI input module s capacity is twelve (12) channels, not to exceed 270 Mbps For example: Total of 48 input channels allowed for the fully-configured DQMx-40 The 8VSB/QAM input module s capacity is twelve (12) channels, not to exceed 38.8 Mbps for QAM 256, or 19.4 Mbps for 8VSB Multiplexed Output QAM (Modes 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, and 1024) Agile Tuning ( MHz, CATV NTSC channels 2 to 135) Output Level is +60 dbmv The multiplexed QAM output cannot contain more than twelve (12) channels The multiplexed QAM output bit rate cannot exceed: 38.8 Mbps for QAM 256, or Mbps for QAM 64 If there are more than 12 channels present on an input module, then the DQMx will ignore the additional channels (the channels will not be multiplexed into the output stream). If the DQMx is equipped with 4 input modules, and if there are only the allowable 12 channels per input module (total of 48 input channels), then the allowable DQMx output is 12 channels, and 36 channels will not be multiplexed. 12 HDE-2H-QAM HDE-2C-QAM ENCODER C o l l e c t i o n E N C O D 2x HDMI & YP b P r to 1x QAM HDE-2H-QAM (HD Encoder 2xHDMI/ YP b P r QAM) accepts & auto-detects up to two (2) input streams in unencrypted HDMI & YP b P r (Component) formats. The encoder, when applicable, digitizes & MPEG-2 encodes each input into a high-definition stream (HD-1080i/720p), and then multiplexes the E R resulting two (2) streams into one (1) output in QAM format in the MHz range (CATV channels T7-T14 and 2-135). Any combination of input multiplexing is allowed, for example, 2x HDMI, or (1xHDMI)+(1xYP b P r ). The encoder supports Dolby Digital AC-3 encoding & Closed Captioning, and is equipped with an EAS (Emergency Alert System) interface & C an ancillary ASI output port. A front-panel RF test point allows for monitoring/testing of the QAM output without service interruption. Comprehensive remote monitoring and control is accomplished using any standard Web O L L E 2xHDMI & YPbPr browser via a front-panel 10/100BaseT Ethernet connection. 16 HDE-ASI SD4E-ASI ENCODER C o l l e c t i o n E N C O D HD/SD to ASI HDE-ASI Encoder auto-detects input streams in HD, SD, and analog NTSC formats, and delivers one HD/SD MPEG-2 encoded output in ASI format. The audio program of the digital inputs is encoded in Dolby AC-3 format. Dolby E R C 1xHD(1080i) 1xHD(720p) + 2xSD(480i)/NTSC 4xSD(480i)/NTSC 5.1 Audio is available as an option. Additionally, a multi-channel output in DVI format is available for preview and testing purposes. Remote monitoring and control is accomplished using any standard Web browser.
