3 1. Description The mini master clock is a device used to control small-scale systems of unified time, with up to 20 pieces of slave clocks. The clock is mounted to the DIN rail and is finding its use mostly in schools and plants of reduced size. one Slave line 12 V or 24 V / 150 ma (48 V or 60 V on request) 1 programmable relay contact channel program with annual cycle capacity of up to 100 weekly programmes programmable lines - Red letter days 1.1. Basic equipment level LCD display with 2x16 characters easy operation using 6 keys located on the front panel well-arranged user menu monitoring quality of DCF 77, WWVB or MSF signal possibility of configuration for any time zone Time base The clock is controlled by a microprocessor and locked to its own precise crystal-based time base. The clock incorporates an input for the connection of DCF 77, WWVB or MSF radio time signal receiver or GPS receiver. Transition to summer time and back entry of transition rules for cyclical change valid for every year entry of fixed dates valid only for one year in advance transitions initiated via synchronizing signal without the transition to summer time (no daylight-saving scheme) Slave line freely adjustable for the transmission of: polarized minute impulses polarized half-minute impulses polarized second impulses The impulse length, gap length and cycle type can be set for all types of impulse lines. 5 1.2. Accessories The radio time signal receiver There are three different receivers we can choose from, to meet the requirements of each application. DCF 84 receiver with standard resistance to radio interferences and noise signals coming via the network. This receiver can be installed both indoors and outdoors, and is commonly equipped with 2 m connecting cable. Highest cable length: 200 m; AD 10 receiver with increased resistance to radio interferences and standard resistance to noise signals coming via the network. The receiver can be installed both indoors and outdoors, and is commonly equipped with 10 m connecting cable. Highest cable length: 1000 m; DCF 380TL receiver with increased resistance to both the radio interferences and noise signals coming via the network. The receiver can be installed both indoors and outdoors, and is commonly equipped with 10 m connecting cable. Highest cable length: 1000 m; Active power reserve Provides for continuous operation of the main clock, including the connected slave clocks in case of a power outage, for a period of approx. 24 hours. backup module with maintenance-free lead-acid accumulators 24 V / 1.2 Ah 2. Installation 2.1. Installation environment Design options IP 20 for mounting on the DIN rail, 6M width IP 40 for indoor installation and mounting on a wall IP 65 for outdoor installation and mounting on a wall The following installation places should be avoided: within the reach of medium-voltage operated equipment places exposed to direct impact of solar radiation 2.2. Installation procedure Snap the clock box onto the DIN rail. Fix all the incoming cables at terminals located in the upper part of the box Wall-mounting type of box is provided with openings in the upper rear side. Connect the radio time signal receiver and slave line cabling of slave clocks, the switching circuit and the powering cable Connect the mains power lines. The clock now displays the actual time. 7 2.6. Connection of the radio time signal receiver The DCF receiver serves for fully automatic adjustment and synchronization of time using the DCF radio signal with a coverage withing the diameter of 1500 km around the Germany city Frankfurt am Main. Comprehensive information about time and date is then transmitted into the DCF transmitter located in Mainflingen near to Frankfurt. The transmitter transmits long-wave signals at 77.5 khz frequency. The DCF receiver guarantees absolutely precise time data with automatic transition to the summer time. Generally the DCF receiver is supplied with 2 m long cable, but it can be located also at a longer distance, in which case it is advisable to connect it via a twisted pair of up to 200 m. Do not install the receiver close to buildings consisting of metallic steel structures, near to PCs, TV and radio receivers or in places surrounded with thick walls or into underground or cellar areas.
