9 DIGITAL IMAGE VISUALIZATION The IMAGE1 digital image information is transferred to the TFT flat screen monitors already in digital SDI format, therefore making precise image visualization possible without the time delay normally associated with the digitalization of analog signals. 10 SDI interface The beating heart of the system is the serial digital interface (SDI) which provides excellent video quality. The images are transmitted with their full bandwidth to local SDI-compatible video recorders or to digital image recording devices without being converted to analog signals. The 1 x 4 SDI transmission amplifier is able to simultaneously transmit a received image to four different output devices. An 8 x 8 S-Video matrix router is integrated into the system which can operate 8 video inputs and 8 video outputs at the same time. Touch screen monitor with increased functionality The main interface is a 12" touch screen monitor with which the OR nurses can quickly and simply operate the various functions for the operating room from the nurse workstation. System expansion The basic system is designed for two 18" LCD flat screen monitors, additional monitors (flat screen-lcd or plasma) can, if required, be connected using the optional flat screen monitor cable set. The system components have been created for safe use in the operating room and have been integrated into high-quality steel housing with a hospital-compatible power supply and an isolation transformer.
