The system is controlled via a 6 touch panel located in the lectern. Splash page This is the page shown when the system is off. 1 of 12 rev 1
Mode Selection page Press to set up for a simple presentation Press to set up for a video Turn the System Off This is the main page after the system has been started. No sources are selected when the system turns on. No displays are turned on at this time. Audio and microphones are unmuted. At this point, you should select an operating mode. Selecting presentation will set the room up to show local sources (PC, laptop, DVD etc) in the room. Selecting Video Conference will set the room up for a video conference, connecting to a VTC unit in the control room. Auto/Manual mode applies only to presentation mode. When Auto mode is engaged, the PC is selected as the source and it is automatically routed to all room displays. In manual mode, choice of source and display is left entirely up to you, the room operator. 2 of 12 rev 1
Presentation Mode PC selected Select a display to show the source on (Manual Mode) Return to the mode select screen Show controls for the dispalys Select a source to show Request help from the control room operator Room volume & mute controls Turn the System Off Mic volume & mute controls This page is shown when the PC source is selected. In Auto Mode, the PC is the selected source, and it is sent to all displays. You may override the auto mode selections at will. In manual Mode, you must first select a source. Once a source has been selected, you need to nominate which display(s) you wish to view it on. If the nominated display is off when a source is selected, it will automatically turn on. 3 of 12 rev 1
Presentation Mode Laptop Selected Temporarily Blank all displays Note: this does not blank to mediasite or far end of VTC This page is shown when the laptop is selected. Most laptops require you to manually select their external display port, as a power saving feature. Often this is the F8 key, but your laptop may differ. The laptop can be plugged into the VGA cable in the lectern. 4 of 12 rev 1
Presentation Mode Front Camera Selected Go to Presets page Although they are primarily for Video Conferencing, the room cameras can be controlled and viewed in presentation mode as well. The control room can also remotely control and view the cameras. 5 of 12 rev 1
Presentation Mode Rear Camera Selected Go to Presets page 6 of 12 rev 1
Presentation Mode Camera presets page Go back to controls page All the camera pages - front, rear and (VTC Mode only) far end have a presets page. These are predefined camera views. Press the appropriate preset button to recall the camera to the recorded view. Presets are not user settable. 7 of 12 rev 1
Go to the VTC control page School of Pharmacy VTC Mode Source Selection This should have a codec number. If not, contact the control room. Select a source to be sent to the far side for Override the default video routing This is the Main VTC page. It is the first page shown when you enter VTC mode. VTC mode automatically assigns a video display configuration. This default configuration can be overridden via the route video button but this should be done only by experienced personnel familiar with the video tie line system. At the top of the screen there is a text bar that shows which VTC unit from the control room pool has been assigned to this call. The actual codec number (one through four) is immaterial; however a codec MUST be assigned for the call to work. If the message No Codec Assigned is shown, contact the control room for a codec assignment. 8 of 12 rev 1
Back to the source selection School of Pharmacy VTC Mode Control page Toggle on/off sending your presentation source to far end This should have a codec number. If not, contact the control room. Mute the room mics for a private conversation Adjust the call volume here This page allows you to manually control the codec assigned to your call. 9 of 12 rev 1
VTC Mode Video Routing Exit Routing page (or wait 10 secs) This page allows you to override the default display configuration for this call. It alters the routing of incoming tie lines carrying the video and audio feeds from the codec in the control room. As for a presentation, select a source (tie line), then a display to route the source to. This is an advanced function best left to the control room operator. 10 of 12 rev 1
System Functions - Help Pushing this will exit the popup window, but will NOT cancel the help call! This cancels the help call. This is the help call system. When you push the HELP button, a help request is placed in queue in the control room and the operators will answer you as they are able. The help request popup can be removed without cancelling the call in order for you to continue your lecture by pressing the red X in the top right corner of the help popup. The call can be cancelled by pushing the HELP button again to bring up the help popup and selecting cancel. The operator will answer you via the room speakers. The operator picks up your voice via either the lectern microphone or the built in touchpanel microphone. 11 of 12 rev 1
System Off page This page allows the user to shut the system down after use. 12 of 12 rev 1
