INCORPORATION (PIW) was incorporated in Malaysia on 26th January HISTORY AND BUSINESS A) PRINCIPAL ACTIVITY AND PRODUCTS The principal activity of PIW is the manufacturing of UL/CSA Hook Up Wire, Multi-conductor Shield Cable, Coaxial Cable, CAT 5e cable, CAT6 Cable, Telecommunication Cable and wide range of Computer Cable such as USB Cable and Multimedia Cable. PIW's products are widely sold to OEM Companies which are mainly local and foreign based Multinational Corporations. Our company's products are also exported either directly or indirectly through various OEM's with Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) status to other parts of the world. B) HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTION FACILITIES AND OPERATION The company's historic took place on 1st July 1989 with a rented plant area of 100,000 sq ft at 1016, Jalan Baru, Perai, Penang, Malaysia. In 1993, in view of the growing demand of it's products, PIW has relocated to its own factory premises on a land area of 217,800 sq ft at Seberang Jaya Industrial Estate, Penang, Malaysia. Construction of the factory was completed in December A trial production took place soon after. The company has commenced full operation in February The production capacity has increased by 3 times with the new factory. On 7th July 2000, we had succeeded in the listing on the Second Board of the KLSE under PIE INDUSTRIAL BERHAD (PIB). On 8th February 2002, we have moved to the KLSE Main Board. C) ISO 9001/2000 CERTIFIED PIW has been ISO 9002/1994 certified by SIRIM, Malaysia on 18th September 1996 in Quality Management System and had been upgraded to ISO 9001/2000 on 19 November D) PRODUCTION CAPACITY : Hook Up Wire - 25,000 km/mth Computer Cable - 5,000 km/mth Audio Shielded Wire - 5,500 km/mth Coaxial Cable - 3,000 km/mth Other Data Cable - 4,500 km/mth E) MANAGEMENT STAFF AND EMPLOYEES The management of PIW is headed by Mr. Chen Ming Lung and assisted by a pool of competence Managers, Executives and Engi -neers in the operation of Account, Administration, Engineering, Finance, Production, Quality Assurance and Sales.
