1 Dear All-State Member: Congratulations on earning a position in this most prestigious organization! You have won this honor after competing with thousands of other students throughout the state. For them and your fellow All-Staters, please start preparing yourself to give this event your very best. Please notify your director immediately if you become unable to participate as an All-State student, so that an alternate may be called. The following items are included in this file: College Night Flyer: This is for your information. I hope you will attend this important and exciting event! Family Fact Sheet: Give your family members this fact sheet to help them prepare for their convention attendance. There are many important and helpful details included. Required Student Forms: After printing this letter and attachments, return to and go to the link to verify your personal information, print the required forms, complete them, and bring them to registration in San Antonio: Student Questionnaire Code of Conduct (2 copies will print) Medical Release form (must be notarized) Student Questionnaire: Complete all information and have your school counselor sign verifying the accuracy. Bring to All- State student registration (DO NOT mail to TMEA). Code of Conduct: Two copies of this form will print. Complete both and bring them to All-State student registration. Following these conduct guidelines is imperative. Any student who breaks the rules will be sent home. Parents will be contacted and must make immediate arrangements for the student s transportation home. The principal and/or superintendent will be notified. Bring to All-State student registration (DO NOT mail to TMEA). Medical Release: Again, all information is vitally important, and this form must be notarized. Bring the completed form to All-State student registration. (DO NOT mail to TMEA). NOTE: You will not be allowed to audition or participate if these three items have not been completed and submitted on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, between 1:00 and 4:30 p.m. in the Convention Center East Registration area. All-State Student Housing: Your teacher will secure a hotel room for you at the convention, which you will share with other All-State students from your school or area. Rehearsal Attire: Rehearsal attire should follow your school dress code and should be comfortable to support all-day rehearsals. No spaghetti straps, halter tops, sleeveless shirts, midriff-baring shirts, or skirts above the knee. As room temperatures vary, layers are recommended. No hats/caps are allowed in rehearsal. Concert Attire: Concert dress for All-State concerts is your school s concert attire. If you do not have school concert attire, wear solid black, modest dress clothes (long black dress, skirt, or pants for women and tuxedos/dark suit, white shirt, and tie for men). Skirts/dresses must extend below the knees while seated. In addition, if you earn a position in the Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, or Mixed Choir you may need your concert attire for a performance during the Second General Session on Friday morning (a subset of band/orchestra members will perform).
