At least the last time I checked, there was a row of computers near the back of the library that didn't always work. The only other thing I'd add would be a slightly stronger wi-fi service. Sometimes I would get a weak connection that made bringing my laptop to school kind of useless. 140 At this time I am unemployed so I have the time to visit the library during the day time. However, when I am working I can never use the library after work because it closes at 7:00 p.m. staying open until 9:00 would give at least 2 or 2.5 hrs of study time and having the ;library open at least part day on Saturday would also be a plus. 5/21/2014 2:21 PM 5/21/2014 2:17 PM 141 later hours such as open until 9pm 5/21/2014 1:43 PM 142 None I can think of. 5/21/2014 1:38 PM 143 More computers for printing! 5/21/2014 1:23 PM 144 All the services are good 5/21/2014 1:16 PM 145 I want more hours open and weekend 5/21/2014 1:11 PM 146 Later lab hours would have been preferred this semester 5/21/ :43 PM 147 No 5/21/ :42 PM 148 Nothing I can think of. 5/21/ :36 PM 149 Renting chargers 5/21/ :21 PM 150 No 5/21/ :57 AM 151 There should be computers that are available for printing only and those that are available for use. But during finals I was trying to use the quiet study area in the back. There were some students in the second floor and they were loud and really disturbing. Maybe something could be done in this area. the other area I think is closed off. Installing clear glass. This would keep it in the open concept and allow light into the area down stairs. 6/4/ :55 PM 26 I would like to see the library schedule for fridays change, they close too early (1 pm) 6/4/2014 6:38 PM 27 JUST ADD MORE HOURS!! Perhaps it was cost effective for the budget but it is hard to study, the noise is just too distracting. Plus, it's too dim in LAVC library and the cubicle desks that have lights are not always working. There should be a sign outside the door stating BYOL (Bring your own light). The library is beautiful but not completely functional and I hope that those that govern never authorize this "open study design" for any future college library's within the district. 67 the hours need to be more convenient and use of the study rooms should be extended without hassle when there is no one waiting to use it. 5/28/ :57 AM 5/28/2014 8:45 AM 68 I love it except for what I already shared with you ladies and gents. 5/27/ :16 PM 69 Ask students not to let children play with computers when its a busy day because there's times when there is no computers available and theres a child playing on the computer, that computer should be given to the student to use instead of the child. This is very disturbing when one is trying to study. 5/27/2014 8:00 PM 74 Great place to study, please extend hours of library and math lab. 5/27/2014 6:11 PM 75 It is a beautiful complex, very useful for all the students 5/27/2014 5:58 PM 76 I wish they could clean the study rooms on a daily basis because they are always very messy 5/27/2014 4:53 PM 77 Should be open later than 2 pm on Fridays 5/27/2014 4:01 PM 78 great place to sit with friends and study on a daily basis. 5/27/2014 3:19 PM 79 more hours open, such as weekend 5/27/2014 2:07 PM 80 easy to find boks 5/27/2014 2:06 PM 81 Books are organized good very easy to find what i am looking for 5/27/2014 2:02 PM 82 thank you for your service 5/27/ :57 AM 83 The library should be open longer. Students definitely see a need for a place to study that is very quiet. 5/27/ :22 AM 84 They know hat they are doing and it's a fantastic job 5/27/ :22 AM 85 It should be open at least short hours on Friday. 5/27/2014 9:50 AM 86 NONE 5/27/2014 8:23 AM 87 Please advertise workshops often 5/27/ :31 AM 88 The computer room upstairs is very noisy at times because people are listening to music on their headphones. It becomes very difficult to study and work quietly.this seems to be out of the library's control. I would suggest that the staff attempts to put an emphasis on this and reign in the problem, if possible. 5/26/ :56 PM 89 Na 5/26/ :39 PM 90. 5/26/2014 9:20 PM 91. 5/26/2014 9:16 PM 21 / 34

92 None. 5/26/2014 9:10 PM 93 it rarely promotes itself so its hard to add the time to go to the library. i as a student need to be reminded that its there for time to be spent there. most of the work i do at home or at work. But i do not mind going to lavc to study at the library. i have not gone in there at all this semester 5/26/2014 8:50 PM 94 No, I do not. 5/26/2014 4:20 PM 95 No 5/26/2014 9:47 AM 96 None 5/26/2014 9:05 AM 97 n/a 5/25/2014 9:24 PM 98 The hours should expand because closing at 7pm doesn't do the students justice. 5/25/2014 6:36 PM 99 Would prefer the library to be available later in the evening, later hours on fridays, and weekends. 5/25/2014 1:41 PM 100 I don't have any comments regarding the library, but I do in fact have a comment about this survey. In the first page, while asking racial background we had to choose at least one option, but there was no Latino/Hispanic option, although the previous question asked specifically if I was latino or Hispanic it was necessary me to choose one of the below options so I chose white in order for me to go to the next page... What is your racial background? (Choose one or more) What is your racial background? (Choose one or more) American Indian or Alaska Native Asian Black or African American Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander White 5/25/ :00 PM 101 no 5/25/ :35 AM 102 The time limit on study rooms is annoying. hate studying with a group that is hard to get organized for a meeting to work on a "must -be-done" class project and need to be finished before we get charged. Even when other rooms are empty. Extra pressure. lovely. 5/25/2014 7:28 AM 103 No 5/24/2014 4:52 PM 104 Very good and clean. 5/24/2014 2:28 PM 105 no 5/24/2014 1:16 PM 106 no 5/24/2014 1:58 AM 107 None 5/23/ :58 PM 108 none 5/23/ :19 PM 109 No 5/23/ :12 PM 110 None 5/23/2014 9:09 PM 111 no 5/23/2014 8:17 PM 112 During the 2013 Fall Semester the library erroneously attempted to charge me $50 for a "missing book." The hold on my account nearly precluded me from securing all my required Spring semester classes. Because of my immaculate library book borrowing discipline, I knew a mistake had been made. I promptly found the "lost" book in the stacks and told the people at the counter. This could have prevented me from securing my Spring classes and I am no stranger to being unable to add necessary classes due to late registration dates and deluges of panicking students all attempting to add the same class. I have not set foot in the library since 5/23/2014 6:29 PM 113 Always a pleasant experience whenever I go print something out. 5/23/2014 4:17 PM 114 STOP STUDENTS FROM MAKING EXCESSIVE LOUD NOISES AS: SUCKING TEETH, COUGHING, AND SNORTING MUCUS 5/23/2014 1:45 PM 115 Library is very helpful 5/23/ :53 PM 116 Love everything about it. 5/23/ :48 PM 117 Good space to study 5/23/ :28 AM 22 / 34

118 question number 3 and 4 are rather irritating. One, hispanic or latino does not classify mexican, I think everyone should know this. Secondly when you ask someone if they are hispanic or latino, and I answer yes, the last thing you would want to do is then make that individual answer number 4, HAVE TO answer number 4. I'm not African- American, Native, Asian, Pacific Islander, or white. I'm Mexican which is not, as their definitions say, Hispanic or Latino. Latinos are anglo-europeans from Italy. Hispanics are anglo europeans from Spain. You would think that in the U.s. we would each own a constitutional first amendment right to have our ethnicity clearly and properly acknowledged. Just saying. 5/23/ :34 AM 119 N/A 5/23/2014 9:26 AM 120 I love the library as a quiet place to study, research and do group work, meet with my peers. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. 5/23/2014 7:36 AM 121 I like it, everything is comfortable 5/22/ :19 PM 122 Yes 5/22/ :50 PM 123 None 5/22/ :33 PM 124 it allows me to focus 5/22/ :18 PM 125 This may not be the appropriate channel to go through however extended tutoring time would be great. I work full time and by the time I am off of work, the library and tutoring services are always closed and I arrive to campus at 6 pm on most days. If its not possible to have extended hours every day maybe make it a biweekly or weekend thing so that all students can enjoy the services provided to us. 5/22/ :17 PM 126 No 5/22/2014 9:55 PM 127 I appreciate being able to get tax forms and copies of LA Weekly at the library. The quiet atmosphere is very helpful as well. A couple of possible improvements: If there is not someone actively waiting for a quiet study room, allow students to remain there longer. The time limit can be disruptive. Also, some of the library staff members don't have the best grasp of English and it can be difficult to communicate. For example I came in and asked for a book on chess. I basically had to make a model chessboard to get my point across. Please try to have someone there whose language skills are a bit stronger. 5/22/2014 9:15 PM 128 the library should be open on the weekends too. 5/22/2014 8:57 PM 129 No 5/22/2014 7:49 PM 130 More hours would help out a lot 5/22/2014 7:44 PM 131 No 5/22/2014 7:39 PM 132 The librarians were very nice and helpful. 5/22/2014 5:10 PM 133 Need to be open more often and more later in the day. 5/22/2014 5:10 PM 134 The survey misstates the hours for the library. Closing at 7:00 PM (the actual time) makes it hard on students who take night classes. 5/22/2014 4:32 PM 135 excellent...should have hours and days extended 5/22/2014 3:56 PM 136 The hours should be extended until 9:30, this would be very effective! 5/22/2014 1:35 PM 137 The online student resources such as ebscohost are very difficult to access. 5/22/2014 1:00 PM 138 The personal is nice, they have good manner, attitude and attention for me 5/22/ :54 PM 139 I like LAVC Library. Service is perfect and I always find whathever I need 5/22/ :44 PM 140 No 5/22/ :39 PM 141 Looks pretty 5/22/ :28 PM 142 nice place 5/22/ :13 PM 23 / 34

143 Every where on campus you may us a state issued ID for interactions involving either, the business office, admissions, EOPS, just about everywhere else. But for some reason at the library there is a new special policy to only accept LACCD ID Cards I believe this to be unfair and needless burden placed on students. If I can pay the college for tuition using only my Drivers license as verification of my identity than why can't I use the services that I have just paid for with the same means I used to pay for them. You have my name and my picture ID along with my student ID number, what exactly is the barrier preventing me from lets saying checking out a book, or using a textbook on reserve.. This policy is a huge reason I will not use or even enter the library, a state issued ID should be sufficient for any interactions on campus. Seeing as how the college is funded by the great state of California. 5/22/ :53 AM 144 It is great, but it would be nice if there were more weekend hours. 5/22/ :48 AM 145 Thank you so much! The library has been such a blessing. 5/22/ :36 AM 146 Keep up the good work! 5/22/2014 8:34 AM 147 i enjoy coming to the library alot to either read or do my homework, something to just relax and let the information that was given in class sink in. 5/22/2014 8:25 AM 148 Librarian should be more friendly and polite. 5/22/2014 7:44 AM 149 more tables 5/22/2014 2:49 AM 150 N/A 5/22/ :07 AM 151 Difficulty studying when disrupted by loud students (Conversation, phone calls) 5/21/ :05 PM 152 Read above!! Very important!!! Add more print release stations, and fix those that are broken. Computer commons hours are inconvenient. 5/21/ :54 PM 153 I like the new library, more spacious. 5/21/ :41 PM 154 Best library 5/21/ :37 PM 155 The staff is phenomenal and extremely helpful! 5/21/ :12 PM 156 No 5/21/2014 9:55 PM 157 Great Library. 5/21/2014 9:46 PM 158 No. 5/21/2014 9:29 PM 159 no 5/21/2014 9:13 PM 160 I think we have a good system just maybe more computers and later hours 5/21/2014 7:27 PM 161 Librarian would be preferable if she or he is visible. Librarian should have her own office in front once you walk in. 5/21/2014 7:03 PM 162 N/a 5/21/2014 6:34 PM 163 The library to me is very good taken care of 5/21/2014 5:44 PM 164 No 5/21/2014 5:07 PM 165 The library is never swept and cleaned. The librarians are never engaged with the students. They sit in front of their computers all day lond and looking at stuff with no motion. Half of the computers are always out of order. The people who work there don't even know how to fix a simple jammed printer. Maybe they need some hands on training. Some of the librarians arw always on their phones. They condition of the librarry is disgusting. It is obvious that nobody walks it in detail to pick up the picks students leave around or at least to do light cleaning. They open at 8 close at 7. Not enough. You should have it open on fridays also as well as on the weekend. Don't try to hide behind the budget cut because that is none sense. How could have the money to build that multimillion building cross from the library but you don't have the money to have the library open. Brick and mortar doesn't make up smarter. That money should be allocated towards hiring more professors and offering more classes to students. 5/21/2014 4:54 PM 166 Consider opening on Fridays 5/21/2014 3:51 PM 167 Library workers should monitor whose using the computer for school use and whose not. It sucks for us waiting to use em and we cant because people are on facebook. 5/21/2014 3:49 PM 168 No 5/21/2014 3:46 PM 24 / 34

169 Not applicable - never used the library 5/21/2014 3:43 PM 170 Stairs inside 5/21/2014 3:39 PM 171 The librarians are amazing! 5/21/2014 3:33 PM 172 n/a 5/21/2014 2:34 PM 173 If I answered some questions with average answers like 'good' or 'acceptable', like how the service desk helped me out, it's most likely because I don't use those services or ask those people for help that often, personally. I do see students asking them for help often, though. 174 Most of the staff do their best to check the premises and do rounds, but not all of the staff does. Sometimes there are students who are not even studying but watching other sites and laughing out loud or carrying on conversation that disturbes those of us who are actually using the library for its intended purpose. Better patrolling or monitoring by all staff on their respective shifts would be greatly appreciated. 5/21/2014 2:21 PM 5/21/2014 2:17 PM 175 The printer & computers are not wheelchair accessible. 5/21/2014 2:14 PM 176 very nice. I appreciate it a lot. 5/21/2014 1:43 PM 177 It's very orderly and the staff are very nice and quite helpful. 5/21/2014 1:38 PM 178 Nope 5/21/2014 1:23 PM 179 Good work 5/21/2014 1:16 PM Please change the key chains on the keys for study rooms. They are very loud and disturb studying. 2. The study rooms need to be checked by librarians because they are used not for study, people in there are very loud, listen to the music, scream, just hang out. Rooms are very dirty now. They used to be always clean when library just open, but now it is just a mess. 3. put more "quiet area"signs and actually control if people are quiet. Sometimes it is just impossible to study 5/21/2014 1:13 PM 181 No. 5/21/ :43 PM 182 No 5/21/ :42 PM 183 No 5/21/ :36 PM 184 No 5/21/ :21 PM 185 I really enjoy the library. It helps me get my homework done. 5/21/ :11 PM 186 Extended hours would be good on certain days for students who take evening classes. 5/21/ :57 AM 187 please open sunday 5/21/ :36 AM 188 No 5/21/ :07 AM 25 / 34
