7 Activity Ideas for Teachers The following activities can be used with the Short A Flip Book. Many of the activities have supporting materials. If the activities have supporting materials, the page numbers where the materials can be found will be provided. Fun Hats Directions: 1. Distribute the handout on page Instruct the students to work individually, in pairs, or in groups to complete the handout. 3. Explain to the students that they should use their flip books to help them finish the words inside of the hats. 4. Then, ask the students to circle the hat that they like the best. 5. Have the students practice reading the words that they wrote. Answer Key: Answers may include: bat, cat, hat, mat, pat, rat, sat Play Ball Directions: 1. Distribute the handout on page Instruct the students to work individually, in pairs, or in groups to complete the handout. 3. Explain to the students that the bat on the page can only hit balls that end with the letters at. Ask the student to use their flip books to help them finish the words inside of the baseballs. 4.
