Appropriate Text Also addressed in Word Analysis and Fluency Systematic Vocabulary Development review vocabulary and descriptive words from a proficiency-level appropriate text and then write a description of a story's character using the new words. Teachers will assess Advanced English Language Learners using the suggested benchmarks indicated in the Elk Grove Unified School District's English/ Language Arts Standards and Benchmarks document as a guide.
