2 1st Annual No Carve Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest This year, the Putnam County Library System is getting into the Fall spirit by having a pumpkin decorating contest! It s easy and fun for the whole family! Participants may bring in a decorated pumpkin to the library and enter it into our contest October 24th thru October 28th. Judging will be done by library staff and the public. All pumpkins must be picked up by November 1st. There will be six categories (grades K-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-8, grades 9-12, adult, and staff/volunteer). Contest rules: Book character pumpkin photos courtesy Google Images 1. Absolutely NO CARVED PUMPKINS will be accepted (they rot, attract bugs, and smell). Most importantly, we don t want a child handling a knife or carving tools. Pumpkins may be dressed, painted, papier mâché, hot glued, etc. and should be completed at home. 2. One entry per person. For Children s Divisions: the entry must be the overall work of the child but do make it a fun, family activity. 3. When you bring in your pumpkin, complete an entry form so your pumpkin can be properly identified. Pumpkins may be dropped off by parents (child does not have to be present).
