Why? Because the text is just too complicated to explain to the young minds.thanks to this 101 Favorite Stories, it is now a lot easier to introduce our kids to the wonderful bible stories. Each page contains one summarized story of an important bible event (including corresponding verse) & opposite its page is a colorful illustration that will captivate a young mind & hold its short-spanned attention. What's even greater is that, this book holds stories both from the Old & New Testament.Just be careful when you let your toddlers read/view this book as the pages are not cardboard material & can be torn by small excited fingers.

3 Very good visual Bible -- better for 6 and up than for younger years. There are follow up questions. We use it for family devotions. The pictures are very clear, a little too busy if your children are under 3, but remember, children GROW. This is a great book to have on hand -- we toss it in the church bag and can look up the scripture readings each week. It's nice for the kids to have a visual reference.with 101 stories, we can do the whole thing, one page per day, for summer vacation (that's the plan).this is not a baby Bible -- it's much more rich than most.good book.*** edited in August Try David R. Helm's Big Picture Story Bible, too -- it's a wonderful book. *** This little book is an excellent way to share the great Bible stories with your children and grandchildren. They are short - one page - and have a full color illustration for each story to help the child picture and remember the event. Great for bedtime stories or sharing anywhere. The book is light and pocket sized - easily carried in a coat pocket or purse. Good for beginners maybe at age 7 or 8 but anything younger and it just doesn't get their attention. One page has the story, and the other page has a picture to go with the story, then there are 3 review questions under that, along with a scripture. LOVE this book. I am new to homeschooling and bought this to use with my kids durning bible time. I saw it as part of Sonlight's curriculum. I'm not ready to buy a full curriculum, but this book caught my attention. It was cheaper to buy the book through than through SonlightI love all the pictures and the stories are biblically accurate. I also really like the questions at the end of each story. My kids (4 and 2) look forward to bible time and hearing the story for the day. The stories are long enough to tell a good amount of information but short enough to hold their attention. This book is great for kids, and adult, of any age! One of the great things about this book is that while it talks about the bible in a way children can understand it doesn't "dumb down" the bible or omit some of the more challenging stories. This is a great Bible story booklet for children, whether you are a parent, grandparent, teacher or Children's Church leader. As a former schoolteacher, I was so pleased it includes comprehension questions as well as verses to remember. Comprehension is one of the problems elementary children have a lot in school. 4 We purchased this book for a young couple at church who are having their first baby. In their thank you card to us, the mother wrote: "We were so excited as we looked through it and found it was exactly what we had been looking for. We were just talking last week about how hard it is to find a good Bible story book with King James verses and good pictures, and yet how important it is to have book about the Bible. So this book will definately get a lot of use in our home!" We can't say more! It is a tremendous book with great pictures and Biblical stories geared to hold the attention of the little ones!
