1 Vigil at Goldfish Pond Lynn MA June 19, 2016 Poem by Rosemie Leyre I grieve We grieve People are like seeds: They ripen in the sun. I weep for flowers crushed before the morning of their bloom I weep for love that has not blossomed Lloro por las flores trituradas Antes de la mañana de su floración Lloro por amor que no llegó su apogeo. O night that touches me, that touches you O night that joins us. I rejoice For the morning can be free. O noche que juntaste con nosotros Por todos lados del mundo. O noche que nos une! Me alegra en la mañana libre. As it happened in Orlando As it happened in New Town, in Charlestown In San Bernardino, in San Salvador In Somalia, in Congo, in Syria, in Afghanistan As it happened in Paris, in Brussels, in Boston In whatever city

2 In whatever country in our world It happens to thee For no one is an island entire of itself Eran las dos de la mañana en Orlando Ay terrible nueve de la mañana en New Town! Donde sea por nuestro planeta Las campanas resonaron dejando un eco sonoro Una terrible sombra en demasiados sitios. Today we are seven billion people on our planet Earth Seven billion people who get up each morning We look for our daily bread Our daily love To be understood. We are touched and we touch, We listen to one another s truth, We listen, sometimes we do not We are heard, sometimes we are not. Yes it is a lot harder for some than it is for others. Do not give up we do not give up Because that is how life energy renews Let us remember that too. Hoy siete mil millones de gente en nuestro planeta dijeron Yo Hoy siete mil millones de gente en nuestro planeta dijeron Tu Cada YO cada TU es una flor Que madura en el sol.

3 Seven billion people on our planet Earth. And Yes people are like seeds: Many are good, some are bad seeds. Sometimes They are trampled upon. Some are poisoned. Some do not survive. Yet many do survive. Que no se borre a la vida De ningún ser humano Que no se olviden!... Insistimos en ser mejores Desplegando nuestras velas Para navegar en un mar de lucha y amor que no tiene fronteras. Yes there is violence o yes there is hatred Yet there is much more love And there is so much that love can do. Let us be part of that. A girl, a boy learning to know the world Discovering one self and the other Studying old and new discoveries. A man, a woman in the midst of all Going on learning and loving Caring and sharing A father caring for his child A mother working hard A child smiling.

4 You smiling to the person you pass by Me smiling to the person I pass by Forces of energy: Let us not forget! Si Hay mucha violencia, hay odio Pero hay mucho más amor Y el amor profundo es tremendamente poderoso. Esta noche nos reunimos en esta comunidad linda Cultivando una flor de amor Junto con tanta gente por todos lados del mundo En un momento de silencio y reflexión Sentimos una fuerza inmensa Y mañana la vida continúa Tonight we join a force of energy In this beautiful community Around one another. Joining many people In a moment of silence and reflection All around the world! And tomorrow As we go back to our daily activities respectful one to another Accepting and embracing Our differences. The chain of life goes on.

5 I rejoice Let us rejoice For tonight we radiate As the moon eradiates And the stars scintillate Que no se olviden...
