Part A: Reading Aloud You have 1 minute to read one of the given passages. Set 1 In 1991, Allen Parton had a serious accident. He could not walk anymore. Parton felt hopeless. Everything changed when he met Endal. The golden-coloured dog brought Parton lots of joy. He touched Parton gently with his nose. Parton laughed for the first time in months. Everyone was surprised by that. One day, a car knocked over Parton s wheelchair. Parton felt a lot of pain when he fell. Endal tugged Parton away from the road. Then Endal ran quickly to a hotel and woofed loudly for help. People came to save Parton. This dog won 11 awards for his bravery! Set 2 Surprise, surprise. I failed the Maths test again last week. I have another one next week. I wanted to stop studying for it until I read about Tsang Tsz-kwan. Tsang is blind. She also has bad hearing. She cannot feel well with her fingers either. This made it very hard for her to read Braille with her fingers. However, that did not stop her from learning. In Primary 1, Tsang found out that she could read Braille with her lips. When she grew up, she used this incredible skill to take her HKDSE exams. She passed the exams and got into university. 17/18 Yearly Exam S1 Eng Lang Scope 3

After lunch, my cousins wanted to see a film, so we went to the cinema. However, I couldn t see the screen because a tall young man was sitting in front of me.
