Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow: India got her independence on 15th August Before her independence India had decided to have its national flag.it is a symbol of the nation. The national flag of India is called the tri-colour. It has three colours at the top there is saffron, in the middle there is white and green colour is at the bottom. Saffron colour stands for sacrifice. White colour stands for peace and purity. Green colour is the symbol of prosperity of the nation. In the centre of the flag, there is Ashoka Chakra. It has 24 spokes and stands for non-stop progress. Our national flag is hoisted on all government offices and buildings on important national days. The Prime Minister of India unfurls the national flag on 15th August at the Red Fort.
