1 DELHI PUBLIC WORLD SCHOOL ZIRAKPUR Class - VII Holiday Assignments The Pledge India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters. I love my country. I am proud of its rich and varied heritage. I shall always strive to be worthy of it. I shall give respect to my parents, teachers and all elders and treat everyone with courtesy. To my country and my people, I pledge my devotion. In their well-being and prosperity alone, lies my happiness. I CAN DO IT! Students, the much-awaited holidays are here yet again and it s time to play and have fun!! We have planned some fun activities for you to make the optimum use of your energy and give a vent to your creativity so that you continue learning during the holiday break as well. Appreciate nature - Wake up early to enjoy the beauty of nature. Everyone should do at least one plantation in your surroundings. Water it daily. Take pics every 5 days. Keep yourself hydrated - Drink enough water to fight the scorching heat and stay indoors. Wear light, feel light - Wear cotton clothes and lighter shades to feel comfortable. Improve upon Reading and Writing Skills (English & Hindi) - Select books of your level. Read them well. Books are your best friends. List out the books you have read. Also write one page of Hindi and one page of English on every alternate day. We would like to see your writing practice notebook when you are back from vacations. Learn the Pledge.
2 Read the English newspaper every day. Go for a nature walk with a family member every day. Try to observe new things. Eat healthy foods like salads and fresh fruits. Drink lots of cooling and freshly made drinks like nimbu paani, nariyal paani and jaljeera. Visit an Old Age Home and spend some time with the old people. Take biscuits for them. Ask them to bless you.
3 ENGLISH Your holiday homework this year is a fun mix of all the aspects of the language. It has been designed to ensure that you enjoy and learn at the same time. 1. Write the review of any one English movie that you have seen and enjoyed. Do your work on sheets. Your work should be neat and clean. You can add pictures, (photographs or drawings). Each review should carry the following details about the film. a) Its title b) The name of the director c) The names of the writers of the story. d) Genre what kind of a film it is; whether it is a cartoon film, an adventure story, a comedy, a tragedy, a historical drama. e)the best thing about the film and the one thing you disliked. f) Recommendation- Why people should see it. Suggested movies you can watch during the summer holidays. Movies 1. School of Rock 2. Two Brothers 3. Karate Kid 4. Lassie Come Home 5. Free Willy 6. Paddington 2. Here are some idioms and phrases. Design a beautiful book cover of the novel and present your project in it. SCIENCE To conserve electrical & fuel energy, make a PPT on the areas where energy is being wasted. As a alternative source of energy, how we can make the use of solar panels and bio fuels more effective and productive A Poster on ways to save energy 1. Activity I Trace a political map of India on computer. On this map mark the four metro cities. Now join them to form Golden Quadrilateral and find an appropriate scale to find the distance between them. Give information about the flora and fauna around these places. Also describe the physical features of these cities. Write some information(in Hindi) about the main tourist attractions there. Paste the pictures also.
