7. The big bad wolf has gone Hi there! I m Sarah Jane and welcome back for the next part of our musical story about Little! We re going to learn our final song today and it s called The big bad wolf has gone. I wonder why everyone s feeling so happy! Let s find out! Follow the words, as I sing the chorus. This is a really happy, lively song. The animals are having a big party, because the Wolf has gone and he s never coming back! So you need to sing with big smiles on your faces. So, sitting up and ready to sing? At the end of the chorus the music goes up. Like this: And the notes are quite fast! So you really need to move your tongues and lips quickly! Now we ll go onto the first verse. Listen to me singing it first: In this verse there s a pause after each line when you don t sing. It s called a rest. Listen: 1
Rest! Rest! Move your hips! Rest! Rest! During the rests you can do some actions! Everyone is celebrating and having a party! Hooray! You can clap your hands, stamp your feet and swing your hips in time to the music! First of all, let s clap our hands! Like this! I clapped three times like this... [clapping] You do that with me. Ready, and... One, two, three. Once more, everyone together. Ready, and... Great! Now let s stamp our feet like this: So stand up, ready to sing that line and stamp your feet. Everyone standing up? Ready and... Did you stamp just three times, like this? One, two, three! Let s sing the line once more. Ready, and... 2
And after that, you can swing your hips from side to side to the wolfy beat! So, let s go from the beginning of verse one and then go on to sing the chorus. And don t forget to clap your hands and stamp your feet. Ready, and... Well done and stay standing where you are. Now we ll move on to the second verse. The second part of the verse is just the same as verse one, but the first part is different. Listen to me singing it and be ready to join in on Listening first... Stay standing everyone. Perhaps you noticed that this verse is longer than verse one? This is a song where the verses get longer and longer as we keep adding new words! 3
We re going to add some more actions! Like before, you do the actions during the rests the parts of the music when you don t sing. So let s sing the first part of verse two slowly now, without the music to begin with. And we ll do the actions as well. So, ready everyone...sing with me from Ready, and... Now crouch down low! Now jump up high again! Well done! Now we ve practised the first part of verse two, let s go on to sing the whole verse with the actions. And then go on to sing the chorus. Ready and... Phew! Well done. Sit down everyone. 4
It s time now to learn the last verse of our song, that s verse three. The verses in this song get longer and longer - and this one is the longest of all! But only the first part of verse three is different; the last part is just the same as verse two. So stand up, listen to me singing first and get ready to join in from... Show your teeth! Ragh! Tap your toes! Shout hooray! Hooray! And wiggle your nose! Great! There s a lot to do here! We ll practise the first part of verse three together. Without the music to begin with. So, ready everyone? Show your teeth! That s it! Show your teeth! Ragh! Tap your toes! Tap your toes that s it! Shout hooray! Hooray! Let me hear you say hooray! Hooray! 5
And wiggle your nose! That s it! Give your nose a big wiggle! That s great and relax! Now we ll sing the whole of verse three with the music then go on to sing the final chorus. Now this chorus is a bit different you repeat some of the words at the very end. Like this: Now the big bad wolf The big bad wolf The big bad wolf has gone! Really hold that last note, with a happy smile! So everyone, ready to go from the beginning of verse three? Ready and... Show your teeth! Ragh! Tap your toes! Shout hooray! Hooray! And wiggle your nose! Now the big bad wolf The big bad wolf The big bad wolf has gone! 6
That was great! We ve come to the end of our final song, which means you ve learnt all seven songs! Well done! You re ready now to try singing The big bad wolf has gone all the way through on your own...and then you can practise the other songs again, before maybe putting on performance! It s time for me to go now. So until next time, bye! 7
