Dr. Bubby I always like the adventure getting over to the Stepping Off point the group photo at the chruch, walking to the train station, stopping by the Dominos and other cool objects, and then arriving to our destination at 17th and J.F. Kennedy. They moved the Love Park statue again this year, so I was kind of bummed that we could not get a photograph for the keepsake!
March 12, 2017 Philadelphia St. Patrick s Day Parade
May May: We found out spot in the parade lineup much quicker this time, only it was very cold and the buildings seemed to tunnel the chilling wind right at us. After bouncing around to maintain heat on the sidewalk, the bus parked next to us opened its doors and invited us in to wait in the warmth until the parade started. There we met Bill (I think that's his name?). He went on and on about Philly, the city he so obviously loves. He spoke with such passion I could have sat there and listened all day long. Saucy - The tour bus guide was so welcoming letting us in the bus seeing we were freezing cold. The best was how knowledgeable he was about the city. He had many interesting facts about Philly. Tinkers - I enjoyed the moments in the trolley before the parade when we got a chance to interact with Bill. I really liked hearing his stories of the city and seeing how passionate he was about it s history. It was a great way to start our time in Philly and gave us some information about the city to look forward to when we went out on our own. Of course it wasn t bad to have some time in a warm place either.
Giggles - A group of younger boys, who were also in the parade, stopped me to tell them some jokes. They would not laugh at any of them and they told me they hate clowns! Toward the end when I said bye, they were sad and told me to stay and tell more jokes. It made me smile! Jo Jo The Philadelphia St. Patrick s day parade was one of the biggest parades I have ever been in along with the Thanksgiving Day Parade. I was so happy because we had a lot more people to clown for and we barely came across anyone that was scared of us! Giggles and I decided as we passed police officers that we would tell them a joke and one of the officers had a very serious look on his face. But by the end of the jokes we was grabbing his stomach and leaning over! I loved seeing this reaction, it truly made me feel we did a great job! Giggles - I was walking down the street and all of a sudden I tripped and fell in front of hundreds of people. I shook it off and turned it into a joke but I will not forget that it happened. It was quite funny and Ari had a good laugh!
Poodles - This older woman, wearing a very expensive fur coat, elegant makeup and nice hair looked at me and told me she loved my outfit and my clown name. I told her I loved her outfit too, little does she know, I really want her outfit.
May May - The Philadelphia parade had more kids making it easier to tell jokes and give noses. As I was going down the side, I caught eyes with a little girl that I just had to go meet. She looked so excited, jumping up and down, as I approached her. Just as I began to talk with her, her mother said to me that she looks for the clowns every year. It made me feel good knowing we're someone's favorite part of such an awesome parade. Saucy - After the parade was over we walked past a person walking their dog. He was very friendly and let us pet his dog but the funny part was using my squeaker to entertain the dog and watch him try to figure out where it was coming from.
Puddin - My favorite moment from this parade was the super cute baby who would scream at me and Tinker whenever we walked away from her. And then if we looked at her she was quiet but she screamed a happy scream the whole time we walked away from her and it was the cutest thing I ve ever seen. Tinkers - Believe it or not the thing I will most remember about the parade in Philly will be getting yelled at. It was definitely an experience that made the parade an adventure. Even though that particular group of people didn t care for us that much I was impressed by the fact that we didn t let it deter us and just saw it as a way to exhaust our jokes on our fans! Puddin - My second favorite moment from here was seeing the people be so accepting of us and excited to see us. The adults the same as the kids. There was no difference in age and there was no pushing us away or telling us we were evil or anything of the sort. It was a very chill parade and everyone made it out alright, though there was that evil parade lady. I will never forget the laughing from running ahead of them and meeting everyone in the actual street.
Pip Squeak My favorite moment was when we stopped in at Xenos' souvenir shop. It was cool to see how happy she was to see Dr. Ivory and the rest of us. Dr. Bubby While telling jokes to a crowd in the stands, this one man stands up and says, What they did to you clowns last fall with the clown craze was terrible. Hearing that actually meant a lot to me.
