1 Latin 2B PRACTICE Exam Spring 2013 NAME: Previous Latin 2B final They used a different book, so there may be some vocabulary that you don t recognized, but it will give you a precise feel for the format and length of the exam Format of this exam: Section 1: 40 Latin to English Vocabulary words; give one English definition and nothing more Section 2: Three Synopses: one regular; one deponent; one irregular Section 3: Declension charts: 2 adjective/noun charts + one pronoun (will include UNUS NAUTA) Section 4: Verb Construction Identification + Sentence Translation Section 5: Latin to English Translation (with some parsing see below) Section 6: Translate English to Latin Section 7: Comprehension story: Answer questions in English about a story Section 8: Sight translation (no extra vocabulary provided beyond what will be printed on the test) How to Parse for Section 4: Parse passage form as below Nouns and Pronouns: case, number, gender, and case use (+antecedent for pronouns, if known) Adjectives: case, number, gender, whether positive, comparative, superlative, and what it is modifying OR if it is a predicate adjective Verbs: (as applicable) person, number, tense, mood, voice, gender and case (case for participles only) + construction or type of clause FREE VOCABULARY (best saved for sections 3-6) The Episcopal Academy 1 esse quam videri
