2 Keeping in touch and cooking How do you keep in touch with people? I always use . It s quicker and easier than anything else. But I get a lot of spam. We usually use than with comparative adjectives. -er than / more than Form Short adjectives (one-syllable and two-syllable adjectives) Adjective + -er Mark is taller than John. Australia is bigger than Italy. Regular mail is slower than s. Long adjectives (adjectives of more than two syllables) more + adjective Meat is more delicious than vegetables. 5 Superlatives We use the superlative form to compare one person/thing, etc., with more than one person/thing, etc., in the same group. We use the of/in with superlative adjectives. We use in with the superlative when we talk about places. Example: It s the most expensive bracelet in the shop. the est / the most Form Short adjectives (one-syllable and two-syllable adjectives) The + adjective + -est I am the tallest boy in class. Sharon is the nicest person I know. Fred has the biggest house in our neighbourhood.
