1 San Dieguito Union High School District MiniCine FEST: A 48-Hour Film Competition (Presented by Envision Cinema & CCA-TV) ccatelevision@gmail.com The SDUHSD MiniCine Fest is a 48-Hour Film Festival Event. On the weekend of February 8-10, 2019, you and your team will have 48 Hours to make a short film based on a theme and prompt ed to all participants at 3:30pm on Friday, February 8. This competition is open to all middle and high school students in the San Dieguito Union High School District. Teams can be 1 to 4 people. Entry Fee: $30 per Team (Entry fee includes admission to festival screening on 2/22/2019 for all team members.) Turn in entry form and fee to: Room G201 at Canyon Crest Academy 5951 Village Center Loop Road - San Diego, CA Money and forms are due by 4pm on Tuesday, February 5. Rules and Guidelines: 1. Each entry must incorporate all the required elements into the film. 2. Each film should be 3 minutes or less. 3. No profanity or excessive violence is allowed; content has to be school appropriate (Think PG or G). No firearms, weapons, stunts, car chases, or anything that could pose danger to an actor or team member is allowed. 4. Do not use any copyrighted material in the film. This includes but is not limited to Music, Video, Logos, Pictures, Artwork, and Literature. 5. A Talent Release form must be filled out for any actor or piece of music that is used in the film. Entry Period: Turn in your team s completed entry form and entrance fee to Room G201 at Canyon Crest Academy by Tuesday, February 5th at 4pm. Checks can be payable to CCA ASB. Please bring a Student ID to verify you re a member of the San Dieguito Union High School District. Kickoff: Friday, February 8th at 3:30pm. All teams will receive an with the genre and required elements for each film. Films must meet these requirements to be screened. Film Turn in Deadline: 1. Before 4pm on Sunday, February 10th, teams must an UNLISTED YouTube link of their film to ccatelevision@gmail.com. If you publicly post your film on social media or anywhere else online before the MiniCine Fest screening on February 22, your team will be disqualified from the festival. No exceptions! 2. In addition, before 3:30pm on Monday, February 11th, teams must share a downloadable file of your film either in person with a flash drive/hard drive or through any cloud based file sharing platform (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc, shared with ccatelevision@gmail.com ). If the downloadable file differs in any way from the YouTube link, your team will be disqualified from the festival.

2 Screening: Friday, February 22nd at 7pm. Invite all your friends and family to come to Canyon Crest s Proscenium Theater for just $5 for students, $10 for adults -- all film team (1-4) members enter the screening for free -- to watch all the films entered. 5 Envision Cinema s MiniCine FEST Talent Release Form Each actor or contributor of media (music and video) to your team s film and their legal guardian (if under Age 18) must sign this form. Envision Cinema has the right to use the following at the SDUHSD MiniCine Fest Screening: My appearance in the Program. Still photographs of me. Recordings of my voice and video taken or made of me. Any music created (sung, played, written, or recorded) by me. My actual or fictitious name. On my own behalf, and on behalf of my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, I hereby release the Filmmakers of Team #, its agents, licensees, successors and assigns, from any and all claims, liabilities and damages arising out of the rights granted hereunder, or the exercise thereof.
