4 Dear Business Owner, We are Piper s Friends, a 501(c)(3) performing arts collective established in northern Nevada in 2010 by John Piper s Opera House, that produces community theatrical and cultural events for Virginia City and surrounding rural communities as well as for the greater Reno and Carson City, Nevada areas. We provide opportunities for people of all ages and creeds to learn performance-related skills including acting, singing, choreography and dancing, directing, playwriting, lighting and sound design, set design and other technical theater skills. Our productions bring entertaining, innovative and thought provoking shows to the Virginia City area and increase opportunities for community exposure to the performing arts in the greater Reno area. Piper s Friends productions are staged in the historic Piper s Opera House built in 1885 in Virginia City. We seek sponsorships to increase our capacity to mentor young and upcoming performing arts students as well as to provide educational and performance opportunities to youths and adults of all ages and walks of life. With increased resources, both financial and in-kind, we will enhance the opera house s technical capabilities and provide higher quality performances, as well as more engaging and aesthetically pleasing theatrical experiences to the communities of Virginia City and the surrounding areas. With sponsorship support, we will also enhance awareness of and interest in the performing arts in the local rural area as well as in Reno and Carson City. Importantly, our sponsors will receive VIP benefits, recognition for their support in our show programs, marketing flyers and other promotional materials, and will be mentioned at each performance. We are currently in production for our next show, a contemporary twist on Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, that will open in mid-july. Following that in December, we ll again stage our popular annual holiday show, The Nightmare before Christmas. In the spring of 2019, The Great Mountain Men Ballet, a locally written comedy featuring historic Virginia City figures including Mark Twain and other notable personalities. We plan to have a full schedule of performances in 2019 as well. Your sponsorship will help us to bring higher quality theatrical experiences to the communities in the greater Reno area.
