November 22, 2014 Doors: 5:30 PM Theatre 7:30 PM Show 8:00 PM Reception 9:30 1 AM President ALVIN SANDERS Vice President JACKSON DAVIES Treasurer KEITH MARTIN GORDEY Secretary JO BATES Directors DAX BELANGER GARRY CHALK ELLIE HARVIE ERIC POLLINS LORI STEWART REG TUPPER MESSAGE to the Members We all work so hard. The choice to be any kind of artist isn t easy. Choosing to be an artist in a medium like film is especially challenging. Being a recorded media performer requires the cooperation of so many others. We can t just do it anytime we want. It s not like making a painting. We cannot do it alone. But our contribution is uniquely special. It is our eyes an audience will look into. Our voice they will hear. Our bodies flying through the air in vehicles, or leaping in flames from some great height. We will dance across the screen, or sing to them from headphones as they watch us while flying in a plane across the country. We are the crowds running in fear, or standing in line, or sitting in the park, which makes the moment being viewed seem real and familiar. We re all the people they see but never hear. We re the folks audiences don t really notice sometimes... but would notice if we weren t there. We are Performers! What we do has many variations. We re what we need to be in the moment. Foreground, Background, or a latex hand crawling across the floor... our contribution to the industry we work in deserves celebration! Please remember: We are all being celebrated when our peers win awards. It is the craft of being a Performer which is being honoured. The Performers uniquely special contribution to the incredibly multi-faceted recorded media industry is what we celebrate with the UBCP/ACTRA Awards. Congratulations to each and every one of you!! Thank you all for being some of the best Performers in the world! Alvin CHECK US OUT ON YOUTUBE LIKE US ON FACEBOOK FOLLOW US ON TWITTER
