Light f Day - the cncerts and the rganizatin - grew frm a birthday party and fundraiser held in 1998 at the Dwntwn Cafe in Red Bank t celebrate the 40th birthday f artist, manager, and music industry veteran Bb Benjamin. Benjamin was diagnsed with Parkinsn's disease in The shws, named after a Springsteen sng which is als the title t a mvie starring Michael J. Fx and Jan Jett, have raised funds fr the nging fights against Parkinsn's disease, ALS (Lu Gehrig's disease) and related diseases. In 2003, Fx, wh als suffers frm Parkinsn s disease, jined Grushecky, Springsteen and Benjamin n stage fr a perfrmance f the shw's (mvies) theme sng. Since 1998, the Fundatin has raised mre than $2.5 millin t help supprt the fight against Parkinsn s and related diseases by supprting research int better treatments, cures and supprt fr patients suffering frm Parkinsn s and related diseases. The internatinal cncert series that has featured perfrmances in varius lcatins by Bruce Springsteen, Michael J. Fx, Jhn Resnick, Jakb Dylan, Jhn Cafferty, Pat Travers, Darlene Lve, Lucinda Williams, Willie Nile, Je D urs, Je Gruschecky, Jesse Malin, Gary U.S. Bnds, Max Weinberg, Suthside Jhnny, Marah, The Trews, The Sam Rberts Band, Paul Langlis, Tm Wilsn and has been hsted by the likes f Vincent Pastre, Rwdy Rddy Piper, and Dave Hdge. Since ur inceptin, Light f Day Canada has expanded frm Niagara Falls and Trnt t Light f Day Hamiltn in 2011, Light f Day Halifax in 2012 and Light f Day Kingstn in A CD featuring cvers f Springsteen sngs by varius artists was released in 2003 n Benjamin's wn Schlhuse Recrds label. The CD, as well as a Eurpean versin, als released in 2003, have sld ver 30,000 units wrldwide and raised an additinal $150,000 fr Parkinsn s research and fr the Kristen Ann Carr Fund. Bb Benjamin, Funder and CEO Light f Day Fundatin Light f Day Canada jined the fight ten years ag and next t the New Jersey shws, the LOD Niagara shw is highest grssing shw and in 2015 LOD Niagara was the highest attended shw in Light f Day s histry. Over the years ur shws have included great artists including; Blue Rde, Jhn Cafferty & The Beaver Brwn Band, Pat Travers, Rn Sexsmith, Sam Rberts Band, Willie Nile, Je D urs, Je Grushecky & The Huserckers, Jesse Malin, Gary U.S. Bnds, Steve Frbert, Suthside Jhnny & The Asbury Jukes, Marah, The Trews, and Paul Langlis f the Tragically Hip, Tm Wilsn and has been hsted by the likes f Vincent Pastre f the Sprans, Rwdy Rddy Piper, and Dave Hdge. WHO WE ARE Light f Day Canada Fundatin fr Parkinsn's Research and Care is a Canada Nt-frprfit Crpratin which began in 2007 with 2 mdest shws, ne in Niagara Falls and ne in Trnt ON. The success f the shws and the enthusiasm and supprt f the 2 cmmunities helped expand the shw t larger venues and eventually t Hamiltn, Halifax, Kingstn, and nw, Lndn.

4 OUR VISION Light f Day Canada is cmmitted t raising mney thrugh varius events t distribute t Parkinsn's rganizatin that supprt Parkinsn's research and care fr Parkinsn's victims and families. The 2 rganizatins that Light f Day Canada wrk clsely with and distribute ur prceeds t are the Light f Day Fundatin and Parkinsn s Canada. In 2015 we began cntributing a percentage f ur prceeds t the Michael J Fx Fundatin, as well as the Htel Dieu Shaver: Steve Ludzik Parkinsn s Rehab Clinic. As we grw, ur visin is t prvide supprt t lcal Parkinsn's initiatives, as well as cntinuing t prvide ur Parkinsn's Canada and the Bb Benjamin's Light f Day Fundatin with funds t enable them t cntinue their great wrk! Of curse, ur ultimate visin/gal is t play a rle in eradicating Parkinsn's and then, as the great Willie Nile nce said, "we'll mve n t kick the $%# f the next cause"! WHO WE SUPPORT As mentined abve all f the mney raised thrugh ur cncerts and events g directly t the Light f Day Fundatin (New Jersey), Parkinsn's Canada, Michael J Fx Fundatin, and the Htel Dieu Shaver: Steve Ludzik Parkinsn s Clinic. Cming ff a very successful LOD Canada 9 in 2015, where ur cmmunity raised ver $70,000 fr Parkinsn's research thrugh cncerts in Hamiltn, Trnt, Niagara and Kingstn. In 2015 we mved ur Niagara shw frm the Greg Frewin Theatre (700 seats) t the Meridian Centre (4500 seats) and it was a huge success, raising mre mney and mre awareness abut the disease t thse in ur cmmunity! In just nine years, Light f Day Canada rganizers have raised clse t $300,000 in the fight against Parkinsn s disease. This is in large part thanks t thse wh attend the shws and all f the great businesses wh supprt LOD Canada thrugh bth in-kind and mnetary spnsrship.
