2 13th Annual Dance Shw 2016 This packet cntains all the infrmatin regarding the dress rehearsal and shws. It is st mandatry that all students attend all 3 events, unless yu have previusly (by Nvember 1 ) infrmed us t nt rder yu a cstume. When: Dress Rehearsal is Friday June 10th. Begins at 4 pm. Begin arriving by 3 pm. Shws take place Saturday, June 11th & Sunday, June 12th (Curtain 3 pm, Begin arriving 1 pm, Theater drs pen at 2:30). Shws shuld run between 2 ½ t 3 hurs. If yu are nt there at least 1 hur befre shw time, yu will nt perfrm! Where: Metamra High Schl 101 W. Madisn Street Metamra, IL Enter thrugh the main drs ff parking lt. Bring: All Cstumes, accessries, tights, shes, make- up, etc. Als, bring smething t wear ver yur cstume, such as a light jacket r shw t- shirt. Please label all f yur belngings with yur first & last name (as well as yur shw t- shirt tag). If yu lse anything we cannt replace it. Friday Dress Rehearsal: All dancers shuld g straight t theater upn arrival. This is a clsed rehearsal, s please d nt bring friends r siblings. N ne is allwed t view except ne parent. Or, if yur child is ld enugh and able t d all cstume changes, they can be drpped ff/picked up. Imprtant: if yu drp- ff yur child, be sure they knw/have with them a phne number t cntact yu in case f emergency. The students will sit in the theater t view the rehearsal. All classes must sit tgether in the theater. A runner will take yu backstage apprx. 5 numbers befre yurs. (NO Parents allwed backstage, unless assigned a backstage duty; this includes n quick change mms and n class mnitrs) At the end f rehearsal, dancers remain n stage t hear any directr s ntes. Sme dances will be asked t stay and rehearse their number again. N dancer is t leave until dismissed. The nly exceptin is Preschl and KinderCmbs; they may leave after they dance. It will mst likely run 4 hurs r less. Shws: Gym Hlding Area: All Recreatinal Dancers (regular dance classes) shuld g straight t gym upn arrival. The gym will be ur hlding area fr the dancers during the shws. Please bring blankets t sit n in the gym & smething t ccupy yur dancer during the shw. Snacks are allwed in the gym area nly. Apprx. 5 dances befre yurs, a runner will cme t the gym and retreive yu t line up backstage. It is strngly advised that yu remain with yur class at all times. If yu are in multiple classes, be sure t be with whichever dance is up next t ensure yu dn t miss yur line- up backstage. NO dancers are allwed in the main theater during the shw r befre the shw. Only the Preschl and KinderCmb classes are allwed t sit in the theater after their dance. Due t limited seating, they will need t sit n smene s lap. N dancers are allwed in the lbby in their cstumes befre the shw. Dressing Rms: Fr thse needing t use lcker rms, d nt liter in there. Only use it t change and then quickly return t the gym t allw enugh space fr thse wh need t change after yu. Parents are respnsible fr helping any child that requires assistance with cstume changes; please g t the lcker rm t d s. We will have vlunteers backstage, but they will nt be able t help with cstume changes. Preschl, Kinder Cmb, and dancers in any level wh are nly in ne dance (n cstume changes) must g t gym. Yu shuld nt use the dressing rms. Levels 1 & 2 (nly thse in 2 r mre dances) use lcker rm #2, which leads directly t the gym. Levels 3 & 4 (nly thse in 2 r mre dances) use lcker rm #3. This lcker rm des nt lead directly t gym, s yu will need t use the hallway t get there. Apprentice use dressing rm indicated by the Apprentice sign (it s backstage). Please use hallway when nt dressing. Senir Cmpetitive use dressing rm indicated by the Senir Cmpetitive sign (it s backstage). Please use hallway when nt dressing. Quick Change Dressing Rm: If yu have 3 dances r less t change, we have a designated quick change rm just ff stage left fr yu t use, rather than ging all the way back t lcker rms. N ne else is allwed in the quick change rm (ther than the child s mm t help with the change). Abslutely n ne ther than thse dancers with quick changes is allwed t enter stage this way. Therefre, if Mm just helped dancer with the quick change, she then needs t g arund t enter the theater frm the lbby drs and quietly step int the theater t watch r return t her seat as sn as she can. Finale: All dancers (except Preschl & KinderCmb classes) will participate in ur finale and take a final bw, therefre n ne shuld leave befre the end f the shw. We d encurage Preschl & KinderCmb dancers t stay and watch the entire shw, but we als understand that it can be diffuclt fr children that age t sit still. N tap shes fr the finale; please wear ballet, jazz, hip- hp shes r g bareft. Please keep lcker rms, dressing rms & gym cleaned up f all garabage, debris, water bttles, r hangers, etc.

3 Tickets: Ticket price is $ Tickets will be available nline starting May 1 st at Nn n a first cme, first serve basis and will be assigned seating. T purchase tickets, please g t: Nte: nline ticket sales will be shut ff at Midnight (the night befre each shw). If yu chse t have yur tickets ed, make sure yu enter yur crrectly when purchasing nline, s yu can print ut the tickets. If yu dn t enter crrectly r lse yur tickets, please see the g t Embssed keepsake tickets with yur dancer s name are available fr a small fee. These will be mailed t yu. Simply chse this ptin and type- in yur dancer s name befre checking ut. Yu may als buy tickets at the dr the day f the shw, but we highly recmmend buying nline ahead- f- time, due t limited seating. Cash r check nly. Everyne ver 4 years f age is required t have a ticket fr admittance t the shw, even parents. The exceptin is Preschl r KinderCmb dancers sitting n a parent s lap; they are nt required t have a ticket. Hwever, if they are sitting in their wn seat, they must have a ticket. Anyne under 4 years f age wh is sitting n a parent s lap des nt need a ticket. Dancers (except any Preschl r KinderCmb dancer sitting in their wn seat) d nt need tickets, since they will nt be watching the shw frm the auditrium. They will be in the Gym hlding area. Anyne ver the age f 4 r anyne wh is nt in ur Preschl r KinderCmb dances is nt allwed t sit n parent s laps. We d nt want anyne s lder children t sit n laps and blck the view fr thers. If a parent wuld rather nt purchase a ticket fr bth shws, but yur child is t yung t leave at the shw withut a parent, cnsider vlunteering fr ne shw. Or, there is a t.v. mnitr in the lbby where yu can view the shw. If yu purchase mre tickets than yu need, we cannt sell them fr yu. We als cannt exchange any tickets purchased, shuld yu decide yu want t attend a different day. S prir t the shw, please find smene t purchase them directly frm yu. Yu are very welcme t ask thse in line t purchase directly frm yu. Seats: The theater drs will pen apprximately a half hur befre the shw. At that time, everyne can find his r her assigned seats. Since dancers begin arriving 2 hurs early, audience members will need t wait in the lbby until the theater drs pen. Please nte: The balcny has stairs. Thse requiring ADA accmmdatin shuld purchase lwer level seats as nrmal, then see staff prir t the shw fr ADA accmmdatins. Hair/Make-up: Cme t rehearsal and shws with hair and makeup dne and yur 1 st cstume n underneath a cver- up! There isn t enugh mirrr space fr everyne, and it makes things easier n everyne (including parents) if yu cme ready. Hair must be pulled up ff the face, preferably a slicked back pnytail r bun. Place any hair pieces t the right side f the head. Secure all hats with lts f bbby pins and/r a clear elastic chin strap. Make- up must be applied heavy enugh t shw up n stage. Yu may apply any type/clr f makeup yu wuld like, hwever we recmmend applying lipstick, eyeshadw, and blush, at the very least. The nly exceptin is ur cmpetitive team, which has makeup guidelines. Sparkles and/r rhinestnes can be added t hair and face. D nt use spray glitter inside the building. Pictures: There will be n frmal pictures. Please nte, pictures withut flash are allwed during shws but videtaping is NOT allwed (see belw). Vide: N videtaping will be allwed during the shw. Yu will be able t purchase a DVD thrugh Fcal Pint Vide. Orders will be taken befre the shw at the studi and in the lbby during the shws. Ordering nline might als be an ptin. 4 Cstumes: Once May tuitin and all utstanding balances are paid, cstumes will be distributed. Befre picking up yur cstume, yu must sign ur list at the frnt desk which states yu received everything and the cstumes are nw yur respnsibility. If yur cstume desn t cme with tights r it cmes with fishnets, yu must wear tan tights r pantyhse in place f underwear. Fishnets need a tan hse under, therwise yur legs lk grey. N underwear is t be wrn; nly wear tights, even under jazz/hip- hp pant unless yu can find the seamless nude clr that wrks well under cstumes. Alteratins may be necessary and are yur respnsibility. Vlunteers: Please leave yur name at the frnt desk if yu wish t help at the rehearsal r the shw. We encurage all parents t be ur shw vlunteers. There are several jbs t be filled, such as selling tickets, handing ut prgrams, ushering, selling flwers, lining up classes, class mnitring in the gym, and hallway mnitring. The mre vlunteers we have, the easier it will be t take turns watching the shw. If yu vlunteer t be a class mnitr in the gym, yu will stay with the specific assigned class in the gym. Then, nce a runner cmes t take them backstage yu can wait in the gym, lbby, r quietly step int the theater drs t watch, but yu need t meet the class n their way back dwn hallway r in the gym after the perfrmance. Nte: if the vlunteer psitin is smething that is required t help during the shw (and therefre yu will nt be able t view the shw), yu d nt need a ticket. Hwever, if the vlunteer psitin is smething like passing ut prgrams, ushering r selling flwers, yu will need a ticket t view the shw. N parents r parent vlunteers are allwed backstage fr any reasn. We have t allw the teachers, directrs, dancers and runners the space and cncentratin they need t pull ff the shw with sucesss. Plus, yu re ging t want t watch the dance frm the frnt instead f the side. Address: If we d nt have yur address, please leave it at the frnt desk r us. We will cntact yu this way with any last minute shw details and ther infrmatin these remaining weeks. If yu have pted- ut f receiving s, we highly suggest yu ask us t pt yu back in, s yu are kept up- t- date with all shw infrmatin. Als refer t fr infrmatin, as well. Other Imprtant Details: Classes will cntinue until Wednesday June 8 th, Attendance in class is crucial at this time, s please d nt miss class frm nw n ut, if at all pssible. Please tuck- in r trim- ff any ballet strings n ballet shes. Have pinte she ribbns tucked away. Make sure yu have the prper shes fr each dance; check the cstume bk r ask yur teacher if yu re nt sure. Abslutely NO fd r drink is allwed in the theater! Please respect this rule. If yu are caught vilating this rule, we will ask yu t leave the theater fr the remainder f the shw. Please ensure that yur children are respectful and pick up after themselves in all areas f the venue. This especially includes the gym, dressing rm, and bathrms. If yu ntice an area that needs cleaning attentin, please ntify ur staff r the venue staff.
