6 Spotlight CUSTOMER Portland Parks & Recreation Portland, OR Portland Parks & Recreation has been hosting Dive-In Movies for nearly 25 years, and the event has become highly anticipated by the community. Our annual events attract more than 300 people, and many of the parents are bringing their kids to what was one of their favorite events in their childhood. Larissa D. District Aquatic Coordinator Ensure everyone has the chance to bob around as the movie plays by renting out pool floaties, tubes and noodles for a low fee. Keep things safe with a lifeguard or two on duty the entire night.

7 Make concessions mobile! Hire local tweens and teens to walk around selling drinks and snacks. Create a Successful Dive-In Movie with these tips. To Plan: Schedule a variety of films for your 2017 season. Family-friendly flicks are always great, but consider hosting at least one Adult Swim Movie Night so parents can have a fun and inexpensive night to themselves! To Decorate: Creating a themed viewing space is simple with a fun theme! Layer blue plastic tablecloths on a wall in a wave-like manner. Twist green streamers from the bottom of the wall up to create seaweed. For an extra touch, blow up white and blue balloons to make the atmosphere bubbly. You could even cast them in a giant net for an added effect. To Eat: Have a little fun with concessions by offering a fishy food bar featuring items like Goldfish crackers, Swedish Fish and gummy sharks! Let moviegoers go wild for a small one or two dollar fee, and use fish bowls and fish tank net scoopers to display the treats in a creative way. Fish are friends, not food, won t be the case at your fin-tastic event!
