4 Thundabird Studios Winner : R hour studio session to record a demo Total value of prize : R The winner will receive a three-hour studio session at Thundabird Studio. A sound engineer will record and mix the demo and present it in a CD format for the winner. The winner is required to provide his/her own band or backing tracks for the day of the recording. Thundabird Studio, situated in Rosebank, is a brand new studio facility designed to cater for the musical requirements of the television, radio, film and original music genres in South Africa. Bev Scott-Brown moved to Cape Town after completing her BMus degree at Wits University. Over the last 20 years she has performed jazz, pop and rock with various bands including the Jonny Cooper Orchestra, Late Final, Blaze, The Firm and Long Street Premium Band. The Kim Kallie Performance Academy was established in 2011 as Kim Kallie began to dedicate her time to the development of young performers. Kim focuses on the technical aspects of the vocal and performance elements of being a performer as well as developing mental skills for consistency in performance. Kim Kallie-Banner has been immersed within the music and theatrical worlds her whole life. She has extensive experience in theatre, cabaret and industrial theatre and has performed in several high profile shows including Evita & Menopause. She recorded the album Margino that went Platinum within six months of release. Kim has hosted her own TV show, performed extensively with pop and rock bands and is an experienced session singer.
