2 Logline: At the doctor s office, a father threatens his pre-teen son not to reveal the truth about his injury. When the son starts to draw, he envisions a twisted fantasy where the truth can t remain hidden. Synopsis: The Heyl brothers are back with their familiar stylistic approach to filmmaking and their unique method of storytelling. Carnivore delves into the dark fantasy world of a fragile son fearful of his father. With epic slowmotion shots, stylish pans and larger than life characters they once again prove that the time has come for bigger, more ambitious projects in The Netherlands. Carnivore starts off in a small contemporary waiting room. The young son has injured his arm, but his father threatens not to tell the truth behind the incident. When the child starts drawing, he envisions a twisted recount of the affaires and we see the events unfold through a childlike distortion. Carnivore covers violence, vegetarianism, cannibalism and fear of authority through the eyes of a child. Exaggerated, hyperbolic, dreamlike and definitely unique. 3 ACTION REACTION PRODUCTIONS Our philosophy: A Passion for Excellence A Passion for Excellence Action Reaction Productions is passionate about cinematography, we aim to deliver exceptional value to every production. The current industry is full of talent, a story can be told in a million ways by a million people. We distinguish ourselves by our capability to develop new audiovisual technologies. Action Reaction Productions created EDI (extreme detail image), a technical interpretation to post-workflow on high end 4k digital raw footage. In 2012 we produced a short The Spirit: Done in 60 seconds, which features a combination of EDI and our interpretation of the visual style created in Sin City & The Spirit. We were extremely challenged by the 48hrs contest for which we created Carnivore. Ultimately we were able to deliver a high end production with a technical level rarely achieved in this contest. We are currently in the process of creating our next ambitious challenges: MOTION BULLET TIME and INTERACTIVE REACTION 2.0. Techniques that contribute to the story without overpowering them, leaving a footprint we would like transform into our trademark. Besides the technical value, Action Reaction Productions strongly believes in the power of TEAM- WORK. Together we are strong and capable of the greatest accomplishments. This passion lives in all our cast & crew. By sharing and nurturing it, every production is pushed to a higher level. Check out our website: A NEW TAKE ON CREDIT SEQUENCE Action Reaction Productions aims to deliver a full concept for every production, from opening sequence to end credits. This led to a new development for end credits, very different from the current industry standards. Guided by our strong believe in teamwork we exclusively photographed our entire cast & crew, giving them their moment of fame in the end credits. This is our Face-by-the-name principle, and even got us an award when we first applied it for the 48HRS contest. This was a first for 48HRS worldwide, as they invented the award especially for Action Reaction Productions. This was a great honor and encouragement. An advantage of this way of displaying end credits is keeping the audience alert until the end, which is beneficial for sponsors and collaborating companies.

4 CAST & CREW FILMPOSTER Besides our Face-by-the-name end credits principle we also display our cast & crew on posters. Besides the official posters for marketing purposes we also design cast & crew posters in style of the production. We always plan a photo shoot on the set to give us awesome footage to work with. FILM COMPANION Action Reaction Productions loves film companions. It s a great way to view your own production from first draft to finished product. We hire special set photographers on every production to capture each moment. We ensure not just the key players (actors, directors, producers) are portrayed, but everyone working on the set. From runner to poster designer, from make-up artist to grip. Everyone contributes their part to the final product. We will always do our best to respect and live by this value. Experience teaches us that it s not only a nice book to reflect on but also a way to keep the team spirit high.

5 HEYL BROTHERS An Effective Combo The Heyl Brothers (Justin Heyl & Joël Heyl) are two talented award winning filmmakers who decided to keep it in the family when they teamed up as a producing/directing duo. Both graduated at the prestigious Utrecht school of arts, they are ready to seriously kick some ass. They seem to hold the ingredients for cinematographic gold. It s no surprise they ve won an award for every single release since they started in With their unique talent and cutting edge technical approach their names will soon be established worldwide. Justin Heyl founded Action Reaction Productions in 2007 and has worked on many different multimedia projects as a Director, Producer, Designer and Photographer. Justin also won an important award for upcoming talent in 2010 for his films and photography. Besides his art he also developed a new post production technique called EDI which is enabled in the Acid Theatre. Nothing stands in his way to perceive his ultimate dream to enrich the world with his cinematic art, while pursuing and developing new audiovisual techniques. Joël Heyl is very gifted when it comes to an eye for cinematic detail and the knowledge to back it. He s extremely versatile with a strong hands on approach. From directing to DoP and editing, Joël has a unique ability to capture emotions in their purest form. He s a wizard in post-production, making him a complete package when it comes to making movies.
