Now in its 43 rd year since YARRAGEH DRAMA FESTIVAL SANDGATE TOWN HALL, Seymour st, Sandgate. A warm local welcome awaits all entrants in Yarrageh If you enter only one festival this year, make it ours! Entries last year were fantastic showcasing some of Brisbane s finest talent and this year we are very excited to be reintroducing an Intermediate section. Yarrageh 2018 dates to remember are as follows: INTERMEDIATE SECTION (under 18 years) OPEN SECTION (18 years and over) FRIDAY 14 th Sept evening, SATURDAY 15 th Sept morning, afternoon & evening SUNDAY 16 th Sept morning & afternoon Closing date for play submissions friday 17th August 2018 Please find enclosed Yarrageh 2018 entry forms and conditions of entry. 2 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY *The entry fee is $30:00 per play (non-refundable). Payment can be made by cheque or via EFT to BSB Account Sandgate Theatre Inc. (Westpac). ** **Please state group name & play in details. PLEASE NOTE *Payment must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the festival or entry will not be accepted or valid. Sandgate Theatre Inc. Festival Committee reserves the right to refuse entry without giving a reason. The Management Committee of Sandgate Theatre Inc. will handle any disputes or protests. Its decision will be final. Excerpts from plays are permitted as entries. By entering a play, you are acknowledging that you have obtained all necessary rights and licences required to perform the play and are responsible for any royalties and other payments associated with the performance. **All plays are to be given a rating on the entry form. If the play contains offensive material, themes or language etc, you must fill out the appropriate section on the entry form, with an explanation as to what may offend etc. No curtain call will be permitted. *Two (2) copies of the script, entry form, lighting plots, sound cues and full programme details must be received (plus, please bring a hard copy with you on the day for the stage manager) *NO LATER THAN - Friday 17 th August 2018 (Unless prior arrangement has been made with the Co-Ordinator) Scripts can be mailed to PO Box 437, Sandgate 4017 or - sandgatetheatre@yahoo.com.au or to Glenda Lawrence - glendalaw@bigpond.com or Kerry Heath gheath@bigpond.com Whilst every effort will be made to position your entry into your preferred time slot, this is not always possible-and other preferences must be given on the entry form. Sandgate Theatre s Festival Stage Manager will have total control of the stage and backstage areas during the running of the Festival. Each group is responsible for its own stage setting and is to provide a stage manager who will be in charge of setting and striking the set. However, a stage crew will be available to assist, if required. A maximum of five (5) minutes is allowed for the setting and striking of sets. Points may be lost by plays that run outside these limits. Each group is also responsible for all copyright & fees, for any music or part thereof, involved in their play. Each group is to provide a lighting and sound effects advisor, who will be responsible for their direction. At all times Sandgate Theatre s technician will be in charge of equipment operation. All plays will be performed in drapes. Personal and hand props are the responsibility of each group. All groups will have the opportunity to view the stage up to 30 minutes before the commencement of each session. Complimentary Session Tickets will be made available to The Cast, Director, Stage Manager entitling them to free admission during all sessions.
