ALVIN AILEY AMERICAN DANCE THEATER LECTURE/ DEMONSTRATION FRI., APRIL AM MOORE 60-minute lecture/demonstration Grades: K-12 $8.00/ $5.00* Join us for this lecture/demonstration by modern dance legends, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, which grew from a now-fabled performance in March 1958 at the 92nd Street in New York City. The performance showcases the rich musical talent of youth in our community and provides musicians, regardless of what style they play, the opportunity to make music together. Featuring a wide variety of global and contemporary music styles, young artists perform with an internationally renowned Music Director. STUDENT SHARE CELEBRATION TUES., APRIL 17 12:00 PM PARAMOUNT 60-minute performance (Approximately) Grades: K-8 FREE Disney Musicals in Schools through STG, builds sustainable musical theatre programs in underresourced public elementary schools. The culminating Student Share Celebration is a special day to celebrate each participating school. All selected schools will come together at the Paramount Theatre to share one number from the musical they ve been rehearsing at their school. SILENT FILM ERA MATINEE MON., APRIL 30 11:00 AM PARAMOUNT 60-minute lecture/demonstration Grades: 3-12 FREE Step back in time to the 1920s at the historic Paramount Theatre! Hear The Paramount s Mighty Wurlitzer Organ; view a short silent film; and learn about the music, history and theatre of the silent film era. Our House Organist will lead this one-hour lecture/demonstration. DANCE THIS FRI., JULY 13 1:00 PM PARAMOUNT 75-minute performance (Approximately) All Ages $7.00 DANCE This is STG s most beloved dance program which brings together scores of teens and community performers from varying experiences and ages to share their culture through the art of dance.
