3 32 ND ANNUAL IMAGEN AWARDS COMPETITION OBJECTIVE AND INVITATION The Imagen Fundatin seeks t recgnize and reward psitive prtrayals f Latins in all frms f media, as well as t encurage and recgnize the achievements f Latins in the entertainment and cmmunicatins industries. In keeping with its missin, The Imagen Fundatin crdially invites members f entertainment and cmmunicatins t participate in the 32 nd Annual Imagen Awards Cmpetitin. The Fundatin wrks t create, prmte, and enhance pprtunities fr all Latins in frnt f and behind the camera and thrughut the entertainment industry, and serves as a liaisn between the industry and the Latin cmmunity by prviding access, educatin, and resurces. QUALIFICATIONS The Imagen Fundatin invites submissins fr apprpriate and qualifying entries in English r Spanish language televisin prgramming, feature films, streaming services, advertising, web series, dcumentaries, theatrical shrts r student films that either: (a) prtray Latins and/r the Latin culture in an authentic and accurate manner; (b) demnstrate utstanding creative achievement by Latins; (c) and/r serve t educate the public abut Latin cultures; (d) and are prduced and/r distributed in the United States. All entries must have been bradcast in the apprpriate categries in a U.S. market (netwrk, lcal, cable, first-run syndicatin, streaming service), released theatrically r exhibited at a U.S. film festival, r released nline between May 1, 2016 and April 30, Deadline fr submissins is May 1, ENTRY PROCEDURES Writers, prducers, directrs, studis, netwrks, talent agents, managers, publicists, prductin cmpanies, advertising agencies, and students are eligible t submit entries. Submissins will be judged by distinguished panels f entertainment industry executives and Latin cmmunity leaders. Submit ne full and cmplete entry frm fr each qualifying entry with a DVD and/r an nline link accessible at minimum thrugh August 31, 2017, and include all applicable credit and prductin infrmatin. Please be advised that entries will nt be returned. All entries must be accmpanied by an entry frm and signed waiver (lcated at the bttm f the entry frm). By signing the waiver, yu are granting The Imagen Fundatin the right t use a clip f the submissin, the winners/finalists and/r the qualifying prgram, film, r prject in cnnectin with the Awards ceremny, and fr ther Imagen events and related purpses. The fee is $250 per categry, as utlined in the entry frm. Independently prduced dcumentaries are $150 per submissin. * The entry frm is available n page 8 f this packet and n the Imagen website: 2

Please nte that by submitting entries, yu and the cmpany/rganizatin yu represent are granting The Imagen Fundatin the right t maintain the entries and permit their viewing by members f the public thrugh The Imagen Fundatin s Latin Media Research Center ( Center ). All entries may be used fr public viewing at the Center fr nn-prfit research and educatinal purpses, and the Center will nt permit any member f the public t reprduce r remve any entry frm the Center r charge fees fr viewing. The Imagen Fundatin reserves the right t nt present an award in a categry. Please be advised that fees are nt refundable. Independent dcumentary prducers are eligible fr the $150 fee nly in the dcumentary categry. Independent feature film prductins d nt qualify fr this fee. * Fees must be received prir t the submissin deadline, therwise entries will be rejected and returned t the submitter. NOMINEES ANNOUNCEMENT Nminees are annunced in mid-june. All Primary Cntacts will receive an ntificatin f when nminees will be annunced, as well as the press release. Nminees will be listed n the Imagen website: AWARDS PRESENTATION Winners will be annunced at the 32 nd Annual Imagen Awards, which will be held n Friday, August 18, Winners are nt annunced in advance, regardless f the circumstances. All nminees are invited t attend the awards ceremny. Each nminated entry receives ne (1) cmplimentary ticket t the Imagen Awards. Tickets allcated fr nminees are nn-transferable. Nminated prductins may prvide the cmplimentary ticket t a prducer, actr r member f the creative team. Additinal tickets and tables fr guests will be available fr purchase. Independent feature film prductins d nt qualify fr this fee. ENTRY SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Cmpleted entries must include all f the fllwing: Entry Frm: Fill ut ne (1) entry frm per categry submissin. Fr example, if yu are submitting ne prductin in multiple categries, i.e. Best Picture, Best Actr, each categry needs t have its wn entry frm. Select nly ne categry per frm. If nminated, the cmpanies listed under Netwrk/Prductin/Distributin Cmpany in the Prductin Infrmatin sectin, will be named next t the name f the nminated prgram. Make sure t write in the cmpanies exactly as they shuld appear, in the event the prductin is nminated. Synpsis: A brief written summary describing the entry must be attached t the Entry Frm t be cnsidered. If submitting in an acting categry, please include the name f the persn, the character s name and whether it s a leading r supprting rle. Screener: A wrking DVD and/r nline link f the full feature film, episde, special, etc., is required with all entries, including acting categries and fr prgrams bradcasted thrugh streaming services. If prviding an nline link, the link must be accessible thrugh August 31, Link shuld be included with the Entry Synpsis. If prviding a DVD, please check that yur disc is playable n a DVD player. Retail versins f the DVD are acceptable. In the event we have difficulties with yur disc, we will make ur best effrts t infrm the Primary Cntact listed n the entry frm. Fr televisin series/prgrams/acting: Please select ONE episde that best represents the series and/r talent that yu are submitting fr cnsideratin. Fr Actr Submissins: Yu MUST include a headsht and resume (IMDB printut is acceptable) and the name f the character n the entry frm. Fr actrs in a televisin prgram/series, please select the episde that best shwcases the actrs character and talent. A DVD r nline link t the full episde must be included with the submissin. The Synpsis must include a shrt descriptin n the actr s character and rle. Fr On-Air Prmtin/Advertising Submissins: If the entry is part f a series/campaign, please submit the entire campaign as ne entry n DVD fr cnsideratin. 5

8 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. I am an independent prducer. Hw much d I need t pay fr my submissin? Independently prduced dcumentaries pay a $150 fee per entry. Independent feature film prductins d nt qualify fr this fee. 2. I have prduced a feature film and am an independent prducer. Hw much d I pay fr my submissin? If yu are submitting in a feature film categry, yu are required t pay the standard $250 per entry fee. Keep in mind that yur cmpetitin may be majr studis. 3. I am an actr in an independently prduced feature film. Hw much d I pay fr my submissin? If yu are submitting in an acting categry, yu are required t pay the standard $250 per entry fee. Bear in mind that yur cmpetitin may be actrs frm majr prductins. 4. D yu waive any fees? As a nt-fr-prfit rganizatin, all fees cllected frm entry submissins g directly int the time spent prcessing yur submissin and the expenses fr prducing the Imagen Awards. Cnsequently, we cannt waive any fees. All entries are nn-refundable. 5. My submissin is all in Spanish. Can I still submit? Yes, Spanish language televisin prgramming, feature films, advertising, nline series, dcumentaries, lcal and natinal infrmatinal prgrams, and student films can be submitted if they were prduced and released r aired in a U.S. market. 6. When will nminees be annunced? Hw will I knw if I am nminated? Nminees are annunced in June. All Primary Cntacts will receive an ntificatin f when nminees will be annunced, as well as the press release. Nminees will be listed n the Imagen website. 7.
