Constantly in contact with the instruments we make, we are concerned with what goes into them since it not only affects their sound and playaility, ut the player and the environment as well. That s why Yamaha instruments are made using lead-free solder. Much like making music, crafting instruments is an art that requires dedication and a passion for perfection. Through our art, we ring the instrument to form, through the musician s art, that form comes to life. 5 Toneholes Handmade Flute Options Drawn Toneholes When ordering a custom uilt Handmade Flute there are many factors to consider. In addition to the asic key configurations there are a numer of other important variales which help determine the character of your instrument. WOODWIND Instruments Walls are drawn upward from the ody material, giving the flute a road, light sound. Soldered and Undercut Soldered toneholes with undercut inner edges give a strong sound with a lot of life in the tone. Mechanical Options Headjoint C# Trill Key H Brilliant An additional lever and tonehole which are useful for B to C# trills, ut can also e used to facilitate a numer of other trills and tremolos. Compact system Super Bocals The shape of a ocal is just as important as the materials from which it is made and the method used for its construction. Yamaha offers four types to match the widest possile range of musical requirements. C Type This configuration has a smooth, consistent feel from the lowest to highest tones for excellent playaility. The C type ocal features extremely accurate intonation with rich tonal character. This is the Super Bocal model, and is an ideal choice for all-around playing. E Type The E type ocal comines comfortale reath resistance with a eautiful round tone which is constant throughout the instrument s range. Pianissimo low-notes are especially easy to play with this ocal. An excellent match for the symphony orchestra, chamer orchestra, or other ensemle. Outstanding high-range playaility and tone make this ocal ideal for the soloist or firstchair orchestra player. In addition to high register security, the P-type ocal also offers a strong midrange with well-alanced low tones. V Type The V type ocal comines many of the est properties of the C, E and P types. 19 Woodwind s WOODWIND Instruments Yamaha Custom Eonite s Yamaha Custom saxophone and clarinet mouthpieces are sculpted out of choice eonite, a high quality hard ruer which offers a deep resonance and tonal qualities similar to those of natural wood. Every step of the production, from the initial shaping of the mouthpiece lank to the final hand crafting of the facing, is done y Yamaha s experienced artisans for complete control ensuring consistent high quality. Yamaha has spent years working together with many of the world s greatest musicians, studying their mouthpieces and discovering ways to improve them. The Custom mouthpieces incorporates this experience in the design and manufacture of every mouthpiece in the series. The Custom mouthpieces are characterized y a warm rich tone with exceptional clarity. Their accurate intonation and comfortale playaility have made them popular with many leading artists. s The mouthpieces are made out of high quality phenol resin (plastic) and feature a design ased upon the top grade Custom series. They are extremely consistent in specifications and playing quality, and offer excellent value for their price. The facing of this series is slightly shorter than that of the Custom series making them easier to play, and easier for eginning students to achieve a rich characteristic clarinet and saxophone sound. They also are availale in a variety of sizes, to suit the needs players of many different styles.
