2 Fifth Grade Music History Video 2 Teams present their music history videos. Each team: 1. Presents the piece of music they selected. 2. Describes the music using musical terms for instrumentation, form, dynamics, tempo, and style. 3. Places its composer on the music history timeline 4. Presents its music history video. 5. Answers any questions the teacher or class may ask. The remaining teams sit quietly and exhibit proper audience etiquette both for the live presentation and the video. Polite applause is appropriate at the end of each presentation.

18 Write a song! In teams or with a partner, create a 16-measure melody for recorders and/or keyboards. --The piece may be in in 3/4 or 4/4 meter or compound meter (6/8). --Choose pentatonic (D-R-M-S-L) or diatonic (all notes in scale). --Determine the form of the song (such as AABA). --The piece should be written within recorder range and should be in the keys of C, D or G Maor. After the rhythm and notes of the melody have been written, compose a parallel harmony for your piece. Then practice it in order to perform it for the class.
