We made our debut appearance at the Junior Theater Festival 18, performed on the main stage at three festivals, danced backup on LIVE TV for Cody Simpson and D Capella, piloted TWO incredible musicals - Frozen KIDS and Matilda Jr, and saw our students grow exponentially in the process. We are thankful for our incredible families. We heard YOU and have been hard at work preparing for our upcoming Winter/Spring 19. We are thrilled to share our exciting NEW class structure with you and hope you ll take a moment to browse our class offerings. So, what s new: Back to Basics! Classes emphasize fundamentals, technique, and excellence. Yes, it s fun to perform, but our technique will help us soar. Time Block! Classes arranged to allow students to take their favorite classes back-to-back. Class Packages! Maximize development and minimize the cost. Adult Classes! Move over, kids! It s time for the parents to show you they ve still got it. Family Bonding! Experience the joys of musical theater together with our new Broadway on the Town field trip series. 8 Broadway Movers Broadway Performance Class Series These offerings present students with the opportunity to explore the art of live performance! Goal = to build students confidence & repertoire. Broadway Kids Let your inner-star shine through in this introductory exploration of musical theater! This beginner class will cover all aspects of musical theater from choreography, scene work, and musical storytelling through popular, age-appropriate Broadway selections. Students will gain a deeper appreciation for musical theater, as well as expand their repertoire. This class is perfect for your budding star who wants to discover what it takes to be on Broadway! Sunday, 11:00-12:00 pm Ages 5-8 (**younger/older students may be accepted per request**) Broadway Studio This intermediate class will cover all aspects of musical theater from choreography, scene work, and musical storytelling through popular, age-appropriate Broadway selections. This class is perfect for a skilled performer looking to build the confidence to pick up material quickly and perform FULL OUT! Learn to master the tricky transition from scene-to-song and explore a variety of acting styles through timeless Broadway musicals. Studying shows from 1930 s - present will cultivate a deeper appreciation for the history of theater! Sunday, 2:00-3:30 pm Ages 13+ (**younger/older students may be accepted per audition**) Mary Poppins: Music, Movement & Storytelling This Mary Poppins-inspired class is sure to captivate your budding star as they explore the fundamentals of musical theater - music, movement and storytelling! Students will delve into the beloved world of Mary Poppins through the modern lens of Mary Poppins Returns, all while creating a magical culminating friends and family final performance. This class is perfect for beginning students who want to discover what it takes to put on a musical performance! Wednesday, 4:30-5:30 pm 7
9 Ages 5-10 (**younger/older students may be accepted per request**) Page-to-Stage: Adult Broadway Revue! **New!** Move over, kids - it s time for the parents to have some fun! Parents, get ready to step into the spotlight (or into the ensemble, that s okay too!!). Escape the kids on Monday evenings and immerse yourself into a world of grown up musical theater fun. During our first rehearsal, we will brainstorm musicals the class would like to delve into. Group harmonizing? Dramatic scenes? A dance number or two? Solos/Duets/Trios? Wicked? South Pacific? Rent? Avenue Q? It s up to you! Together we will create a musical revue that is sure to remind your family that you ve still got it! Monday, 7:30-9:00 pm Adults Broadway Technique Class Series Students will take an in-depth look at the three fundamental skills of musical theater - acting, singing, and dancing. Broadway Voice Belt and harmonize your way to Broadway! Classes focus on Broadway style vocals, while reinforcing fundamental voice techniques. Students explore age-appropriate breathing and vocal techniques through a variety of vocal repertoire, while improving music theory, sight reading, and selling a song. Audition preparation and performance skills will be practiced through in-class performances, including the final class vocal showcase. 1. Beginning Broadway Voice, 4:00-5:00 pm Ages 8+ (**younger/older students may be accepted per request**) 2. Intermediate Broadway Voice, 4:45-5:45 pm 1+ years prior experience (**younger/older students may be accepted per audition**) Junior Theater Festival (JTF), January 18 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Jr. #I vegotagoldenticket Tune into our Facebook/Instagram pages over the next two months for updates from our 2019 Junior Theater Festival cast, presenting Peter Pan Jr.! The annual festival is in Atlanta, Georgia over Martin Luther King weekend and draws in over 6,000 thespians from around the world! We were delighted to be awarded Excellence in Dance. 8
10 Broadway Acting Make them laugh, make them cry, and keep them entertained! Classes focus on giving young performers the confidence to grip an audience and the skills to captivate. Students will become more spontaneous, creative, playful and imaginative, all while developing valuable theater and interpersonal skills. With an exciting mix of games, techniques, group scenes, monologues and more, students are sure to leave class feeling accomplished and energized! 1. Classes focus on the fundamental technique of jazz, ballet, hip-hop, all of which lay the foundation for musical theater choreography. Students will explore classic and contemporary Broadway choreography; learning how to tell a story through movement execute choreography of all levels. Each week, students will experience new choreography, dance styles and make exciting additions to their personal dance repertories. 1. As they go through the process and experience what it takes to produce a musical, students will hone the fundamental musical theater skills - singing, dancing, and acting - while gaining the confidence necessary to take the stage in front of an audience.
