NAVE The RIVERSIDE CHOIR, SOLOISTS, & ORCHESTRA Brahms Requiem On Mother s Day, The Riverside Choir offers A German Requiem one of the great masterworks of the choral and orchestral literature initially composed as a response to the death of his dear friend, the composer Robert Schumann. Brahms universal message of solace, comfort and hope, composed as a personal musical memorial dedicated to his mother, uses biblical texts different from those found in the traditional Latin Requiem. $25/$20. This service of music and light combines carillon, organ, harp, and all of the choirs of The Riverside Church, culminating in a ritual sharing of candlelight illuminating the Nave.
