Founded in 1982 as the Naples-Marco Philharmonic, the orchestra performed four concerts in its first season. In 1989 the orchestra moved to its current home in Naples, and since then the ensemble has grown in scope, size and artistic impact. In his second season as Music Director, Boreyko continues to expand the repertoire and redouble the orchestra's dedication to world-class performances. In 2009 Jack Everly was named Principal Pops Conductor and continues today in that role. Budget Long-Term Success Russian Conductor, Andrey Boreyko, is one of the most exciting and dynamic conductors to emerge from Eastern Europe in recent years. Mr. Boreyko began his formal tenure as Music Director of Artis Naples with the season. In addition, he holds the position of Music Director of Orchestre National de Belgique and that of Principal Guest Conductor of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Euskadi. Across his career, he has conducted orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker, Munchner Philharmoniker, Royal Concertgebouw, Orchestre de Paris, the London Symphony and Rotterdam Philharmonic. Equally in demand in North America, he has worked with the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Cleveland and Philadelphia orchestras as well as the Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Pittsburg and Montreal symphony orchestras. With his important appointment as Music Director we have solidified a culture committed to quality and a unified Artis Naples platform. Mr. Boreyko not only has the artistic vision to continue building the Naples Philharmonic, he has the artistic prowess to celebrate the wider programmatic platform which crosses disciplines. He also has the capacity to communicate passionately to a local, national and international public that Naples is defining a cultural identity for Florida and the wider southeastern region. From our founding, our patrons have demanded distinctive, quality, cultural programming while today's younger audiences seek ways to connect the arts and humanities. Both expectations will expand and intensify over the coming decade. All can look with confidence to Artis Naples. With one foot placed solidly in the performing arts and the other in the visual arts, we are uniquely positioned to explore sophisticated thematic concepts and foster deep connections to remain relevant, interesting and engaging for our core patrons, new audiences and indeed, our wider region and home state for decades to come. 4 Artis Naples Description Artis Naples is the home of The Baker Museum and the Naples Philharmonic. More than 300,000 people are welcomed to Artis Naples' 8.5 acre campus each year where, as a whole, Artis Naples creates and presents more than 300 concerts, events and exhibitions each year including 140 orchestra-based programs and 20 museum-based programs. Our artistic offerings reflect a celebrated resident ensemble that embraces a wide variety of programming including chamber music, jazz, pops, ballet and opera. Now celebrating the 15th anniversary of its grand opening, The Baker Museum is the largest fine arts museum in Southwest Florida. It includes a three-story, 30,000 square foot museum with 15 galleries, glass dome conservatory and resource room. Special features include the Museum's entrance gates, designed by renowned metal artist Albert Paley, and a Persian Ceiling created by popular glass artist Dale Chihuly. In addition, Artis Naples is proud to have built and sustained successful partnerships to further our artistic goals including a two-decades long partnership with the Miami City Ballet; a fifteen-year partnership with BROADWAY ACROSS AMERICA (BAA); a fifteen-year visiting orchestra series including regular appearances by the Israel Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Mariinsky Orchestra and beginning this year, the Vienna Philharmonic in its Florida debut; ten-year partnerships with regional churches, schools, community enters to extend our artistic reach beyond our campus; and a two-decades long partnership with Collier County Public Schools that delivers a robust program of arts education to nearly 50,000 schoolchildren annually. Budget Long-Term Success Examples of Long-Term Success As we look to the future, we see continued population growth throughout our state and a transfer of wealth that is being accompanied by a transfer of cultural values and expectations. In addition, we have an emerging home-state population with arts and cultural aspirations and needs including youth education. From our inception, Artis Naples' patrons have demanded distinctive, quality, cultural programming and have both expected and supported a range of arts education initiatives. Because our fundamental mission remains the creation and presentation of world-class visual and performing arts programming, our measure of success is our ability to leverage our unique position within our Southwest Florida region to engage our core patrons, reach new audiences and satisfy the needs and aspirations of all residents. Artis Naples, home of The Baker Museum and the Naples Philharmonic, is Southwest Florida's premier arts and cultural destination with more than 300 concerts, performances, exhibitions and education events for patrons of all ages from September to July each year. Led by CEO and President Kathleen van Bergen and Music Director Andrey Boreyko, the organization's mission to create and present world-class visual and performing arts provides for a broad array of artistic and educational opportunities for the entire community. This includes more than 140 orchestral and chamber music concerts, up to 20 museum-based exhibitions and educational programming that serves nearly 50,000 Lee and Collier County schoolchildren and some 7,000 older adults through popular (often sold-out) Lifelong Learning programs. In FY15, this was achieved with a balanced budget (the first in more than a decade), and the forecast of a similarly balanced budget in FY16 and beyond. 4

5 Target Population 1 Target Population 2 Adults Children and Youth (0-19 years) The Baker Museum Description Now celebrating the 15th anniversary of its grand opening, The Baker Museum is the largest fine arts museum in Southwest florida. it includes a three-story, 30,000 square foot museum with 15 galleries, glass dome conservatory and resource room. Special features include the Museum's entrance gates, designed by renowned metal artist Albert Paley, and a Persion Ceiling created by popular glass artist Dale Chihuly. Frank Verpoorten, Director and Chief Curator of The Baker Museum, has played curatorial roles in Brussels, Belgium and New York City at such esteemed institutions as the Museum of Modern Art, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art and the Dahesh Museum of art. Immediately prior to taking the helm at The Baker Museum, Frank served as Cultural Attache for the Representation of the Government of Flanders (Belgium). As Cultural Attache, Frank oversaw multidisciplinary cultural programming for the Belgian government, including exhibitions, performing arts initiatives, lectures and film programs. Budget Long-Term Success Examples of Long-Term Success Target Population 1 Target Population 2 Long-term success will include increasing attendance (currently grown to over 30,000 patrons per year), the ability to secure important traveling exhibitions as well as present curated collections drawn from our permanent collections. Expansion of the collection is also important. Trending to date reflects success in all these areas. Growth of our patron base, the progress of our exhibitions and the increasing scholarship on our permanent collection are three key examples of our success. The Baker Museum opened 15 years ago with a nascent collection of American masters. Today, it features a permanent collection focused on American Modernism and presents a schedule of traveling exhibitions from around the world. Our patronage has grown to more than 30,000 per year with Art After Hours, our monthly open house routinely includes guests. Most recently, exhibitions we have presented included Exploring America, featuring works by Albert Bierstadt, Georgia O'Keefe and John James Audubon; Gods and Heroes, Masterpieces from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, the first such exhibition in the United States in more than 40 years. Naples Collects, a once-in-a-lifetime collection curated personally by Museum Director and Chief Curator Frank Verpoorten of rarely viewed works held in the private collections and homes of Naples collectors will open early next year. 6 Impact Goals What are your organization's long-term strategic goals? From our founding, Artis Naples has been central to defining our community as one of cultural participation and excellence rather than - like so much of our state - one solely defined by beaches, golf and fine or relaxed living. Our programmatic footprint is, and will remain, vast, especially for a community of our size. More than 300,000 people are welcomed to our campus annually and as a whole, Artis Naples creates and presents more than 300 concerts, events and exhibitions each year. As we look to the future, we see continued population growth throughout our state and a transfer of wealth that is being accompanied by a transfer of cultural values and expectations. As noted above, from our inception, Artis Naples' patrons have demanded distinctive, quality, cultural programming. Because our most fundamental belief is that the arts and culture enrich and expand life, all can look with confidence to Artis Naples. With the guidance of our leadership and support from our community, patrons and donors, Artis Naples will remain a true multi-disciplinary organization with one foot placed solidly in the performing arts and the other in the visual arts, uniquely positioned to not only to meet these expectations for the benefit of our Southwest Florida community, but to surpass them. Strategies What are the major strategies you will do to accomplish your goals? Our strategies for reaching our goals are to maintain focus on fiscal responsibility and achieving a balanced annual budget, remain fully engaged with and committed to a multi-disciplinary programmatic approach, continue to expand community relationships and partnerships for the good of our community and continue to pursue world-class excellence in all that we do. Capabilities What are your organization s capabilities for doing this? Artis Naples' 8.5 acre campus houses the 1,425-seat Hayes hall, the 289-seat Daniels Pavilion, and the 30,000 square foot Baker Museum. The orchestra features a core of 51 musicians, expanding in FY16 to 53, prepared to play a wide range of music including orchestral and chamber works, jazz, ballet and opera. We also host a range of visiting artists and organizations including Miami City Ballet, BROADWAY ACROSS AMERICA among others. The Baker Museum is the largest fine arts museum in Southwest Florida. It includes a three-story, 30,000 square foot museum with 15 galleries, glass dome conservatory and resource room. Special features include the Museum's entrance gates, designed by renowned metal artist Albert Paley, and a Persian Ceiling created by popular glass artist Dale Chihuly. We also feature an Education Department leading a range of programming to serve nearly 50,000 area schoolchildren through both visual and performing arts programming and some 7,000 adults through Lifelong Learing programs that are often sold-out. As a single, multi-disciplinary organization, Artis Naples is uniquely positioned to meet the arts and cultural expectations of our patrons and needs of our community. Indicators What indicators do you use to measure progress? Artis Naples uses metrics to track our progress and regularly evaluates the following: * Artistic Excellence * Patron experience * Budgeted reveneus and expenses compared to actual * Ticket and Subscription sales * Individual, corporate, foundation and government donations * Community outreach * Marketing effectiveness 6

7 * Audience development * Performance diversity * Collaborations and partnerships * Governance standards * FASB standards * Audits Outcomes that are measured continue to include: * Attendance (versus actual tickets sold) * Individual and Group ticket sales and subscription sales * Overall program costs * Audience trends * Media coverage and reviews * Peer reviews * Overall bottom line profitability/loss * Number of Households Additional Measurements, Financial: Every concert or event in each season is budgeted based on overall revenue, number of tickets sold, percentage fo the house filled, overall and individual category expenses as well as final P/L. Moving into FY16, we are pleased to introduce tracking of additional important statistics including the percentage of revenues raised from new versus renewing ticket and subscription purchases, and additional tracking against both current season results and prior season results. Additional Measurements, Artistic: Audience response/reaction, musician input through the Player's and Artistic Committees, feedback from other noted professionals and reviews will continue to provide important feedback on artistic quality and help to inform future program development and guest artist choices. Progress What have and haven t you accomplished so far? As noted throughout this application, twenty-five years after our founding in 1982, Artis Naples, home of The Baker Museum and the Naples Philharmonic, has grown to become Southwest Florida's premier cultural campus. We create and present more than 300 world-class concerts, events and exhibitions annually serving more than 300,000 people and nearly 50,000 local-area students through performances, exhibitions and educational programming. More than 25 years ago, our performing arts center featuring a 1,477 seat hall (Hayes Hall) and a 283 seat black box theater (Daniels Pavilion) was built on donated land based on the versatility and promise of a fledgling chamber orchestra then known as the Naples-Marco Philharmonic. Today, the Naples Philharmonic is a celebrated resident orchestra that embraces a wide variety of programming including chamber music, jazz, pops, ballet and opera. The Baker Museum is the largest fine arts museum in Southwest Florida. It includes a three-story, 30,000 square foot museum with 15 galleries, glass dome conservatory and resource room. With a permanent collection of American Modernism we are also pleased to create and present traveling exhibitions from around the world including Gods and Heroes, Masterpieces from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, the first such exhibition in the United States in more than 40 years, and, opening early next year, Naples Collects, a once-in-a-lifetime, curated collection of rarely viewed works held in the private collections and homes of Naples collectors. In addition, we are proud to have built and sustained successful partnerships to further our artistic goals including ten-year partnerships with regional churches, schools and community centers to extend our reach beyond our campus; a two-decades long partnership with the Miami City Ballet; a fifteen-year partnership with BROADWAY ACROSS AMERICA (BAA); and a fifteen-year visiting orchestra series including regular appearances by the Israel Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony and now including the famed Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra which will make its Florida debut at Artis Naples in March,
