2 Perormance Note The AZMON and NETTLETON hymn settings contain an introduction a standard harmonization compatible with most hymnals and a inal stanza setting. The standard harmonization is most oten used or the irst stanza. t may be repeated or other stanzas i desired keeping in mind that brass players appreciate organ-only stanzas that give them some time to rest. There is an additional alternate setting or NETTLETON appropriate or stanza 2 or 3 depending on the hymn. Since hymnal harmonizations or HOLY MANNA vary a straightorward Setting 1 is given to be used or the opening stanza. The arrangement o JERUSALEM is based on Hubert Parry s original setting. n all cases the tuba and timpani parts are optional and may be omitted. The soprano descants are also optional; when used the singers should sing any comortable syllable such as Ah. Trumpet parts in both B-lat and C have been provided as well as an optional Horn in F part as a substitute or Trombone.
