From the Mayor s Desk Happy New Year Mount Dora!! Mount Dora is coming off a record setting year in regards to our economy.

2019 will be a very active year for our City.

We are beginning the process for a new Public Works Building, work on our Library and replacement of our 2 fire stations along with new one for a total of 3 new Fire Stations.

4 From the Mayor s Desk Happy New Year Mount Dora!! Mount Dora is coming off a record setting year in regards to our economy. Mount Dora still ranks as the place be in Central Florida anytime of the year. Our accolades are many and outside of finding a parking spot, the complaints are few will be a very active year for our City. More people each year want to come to Mount Dora for its charm, quaintness and quality of life that you the residents provide to our many visitors. We are beginning the process for a new Public Works Building, work on our Library and replacement of our 2 fire stations along with new one for a total of 3 new Fire Stations. As a City Government, we constantly extend our appreciation to our many dedicated employees who work tirelessly throughout the year to provide all of the services we have come to love. However, we neglect to thank everyone of our citizens of this great city who want their City to be the best it can be. A huge THANK YOU for the support you give to the City Council through your input at Council meetings and the numerous s and phone calls.

Downtown galleries will have extended hours and will be open to the public free of charge. This is a unique opportunity to experience a vibrant, eclectic mix of emerging and established artists.

5 Around Town: Mount Dora 2nd Friday Art in the Alley Galleries open 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Royellou Lane Downtown Art and music exhibitors will line Royellou Lane, in the heart of downtown Mount Dora, showcasing their original art, handmade goods and acoustic sounds. Downtown galleries will have extended hours and will be open to the public free of charge. This is a unique opportunity to experience a vibrant, eclectic mix of emerging and established artists. Start your stroll at the Mount Dora Center for the Arts Gallery to pick up your Art in the Alley map. As you stroll down Royellou Lane have your map punched at each of the gallery stops along the way. Once you have visited all of the galleries, bring your completed punched map to the Gatehouse Gallery at the Lakeside Inn to be entered into a raffle for a special prize.

8 Public Information Storm Water and Main Improvements During the months of November 2018 through April 2019, the City will be making improvements to its underground water mains and stormwater systems in the northeast part of town. The area of work includes several sites located between North Baker Street on the west, North Simpson Street on the east, Fearon Avenue on the north, and East Lincoln Avenue on the south. The work will occur approximately as shown on the following map in the image. The City s contractor will accommodate traffic through the neighborhood and minimize any inconvenience during progress of the construction project. While the work is being done, we will make every effort to avoid an interruption to service or access to property. In the unlikely event a problem occurs, please report any concerns to our Public Works & Utilities office by calling (352) Please be careful as you drive through these areas and be aware of city and contract workers. We thank you for your patience as we continue to improve our utility services throughout the community.

10 Important Information! The City of Mount Dora is no longer using the Code Red Emergency Notification System. We are switching over to Civic Ready, which is a better integrated and more interactive system for our citizens. If you are not a City of Mount Dora Utility customer, meaning if you do not receive a utility bill from the city, you will need to join by going to the link on our website, provided above. Please click the SIGN UP NOW picture above and you will be directed to the site. If that link does not work or you do not see images, please go to cityofmountdora.regroup.com to register yourself and your household members. City of Mount Dora Utility Customers have already been added. The Emergency Notification System sends out messages for boil water notifications and alerts, extended power outages, city emergencies and police and fire incidents that affect the life safety of our residents, visitors and businesses. You will not receive 'robo calls' when you register and this list is not distributed. These messages are controlled by the city only. Once you join, you will be automatically registered with our Emergency Notification system, but you can also join GROUPS that will be created, such as festival and event notifications or street closures that come with those events. NOAA weather warnings and watches for Lake County will also be distributed using this system if you do not have a weather radio, lose power, or are unable to watch television weather reports. If you know someone that does not have internet access, please call or have them call Ext and we will register them in the system! The use of Code Red stopped on August 1, 2018 so please be sure to register with our new system.

This sport can be a rewarding, life-long activity, which develops self-confidence and discipline. This course is designed to acquaint the beginning archer with basics in care and use of equipment. Intermediate Archery Class This 6-week program will allow archers to continue practicing the skills they have learned during the Beginner Class of Archery. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes Age Requirements: This league is offered to participants who are 8 years of age and older. There will be no refunds for inclement weather. *All dates, times, and fees are subject to change. Classes that are cancelled before half of the session will be rescheduled. (5 classes guaranteed).
