2 Who Is MTCO And digimax? Maybe you are new to the area, or just haven t had a chance to meet us. Either way, an introduction is needed every once in awhile, even for our long time friends and customers. MTCO Communications has been a locally owned business in Metamora since Beginning in the early years as the Metamora Telephone Company, providing telephone service only, we evolved into MTCO Communications, delivering television, Internet and telephone services to the residents of Germantown Hills, Marseilles and Metamora. In 1987, we acquired the Marseilles Telephone Company and a great team of employees that have continued our friendly local customer service philosophy. MTCO began connecting people to the world through their fingertips in 1995 with our Internet service launch, making us the oldest local Internet provider in central Illinois. As the company grew into the television business, we developed a brand name for our bundled services called digimax. Our cutting edge television service is a 100% digital IPTV video service built from the ground up. It provides all of the digital content you are accustomed to, but with greater clarity and backed by the best customer service in the area. In 2013, we obtained the rights to construct a fiber optic network in the city of Washington, IL to further our local reach to a customer base that has been asking for our services for many years. 3 Entertainment & Technology digimax TV Upgrade MTCO digimax TV released a new upgrade in late January to all TV subscribers with these interface enhancements: In addition to a Full Screen Guide, a refreshing new Corner Screen Guide is now available. Full Screen Guide New DVR Library indicators: Solid Red icon means the program is currently recording. Red circle with yellow check means the recording is complete but not watched. Red circle with white triangle means the recording has been played. A green new icon appears in the Guide next to new programs. Corner Screen Guide New End of Recording options so you can Return to TV, or Return to DVR Recording List, along with Delete or Keep the recording. Additional enhancements include more detailed information for boot up trouble screens and progress screen messages. Replace Your Wallet With A COIN A new start-up company has introduced a Bluetooth credit card device that stores all of your credit/debit cards into one credit card sized device. Coin is a nonrechargeable device lasting up to two years, that can be used anywhere regular credit cards are accepted. According to the company, you load all of your cards through a card swipe dongle that connects to your smart phone or tablet using their mobile app. Once your cards are loaded the app and smart phone are not needed for the Coin device to work. Simply choose which card you would like to use from the device and swipe like a regular card transaction. More information is available at com. iphone Enabled Crock-Pot Belkin has introduced a new Crock-Pot brand slow cooker integrated with the company s WeMo home automation technology. According to Belkin, this will be the first of a number of WeMo enabled small appliances, including items like space heaters. The Wi-Fi-enabled cooker looks nearly identical to other similar slow cookers, with controls on the front for toggling warm, low and high settings -- but chefs can use the WeMo ios app to adjust temperatures and set automated on/ off timers. The Crock-Pot Smart Slow Cooker enabled with WeMo will be available for $99.99 this spring. Keep up with Entertainment and Technology news. 6 In Our Community Ham Dinner The Marseilles Methodist Church at 462 Church Street is holding a Ham Dinner on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The ham dinner includes green beans, potato casserole, apple sauce, roll and butter, and cake for dessert. IDNR Photo Contest The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is soliciting pictures of live wildlife - that are hunted or trapped in Illinois - to be used for the Hunting and Trapping Digest.
