3 The Basics RetractaNet XS Solution: 5 Easy Steps 1 LAY LAY the RetractaCable from Distribution Point along the Homes. 2 OPEN 4 PULL 3 CUT 5 PUSH/BLOW OPEN the RetractaCable in front of the homes to connect. CUT the desired fibre module in the first next (from DP) opened cable spot. PULL the cut fibre module out (retract), in case the length is > 50 meter the Plumettaz Domojet can be used for retracting, storage and pushing or blowing. PUSH and/or BLOW the retracted fibre module through a drop duct up to the home. October

10 Aerial Retractanet with Routed Drop At each tapping box a window is cut for extraction. When a customer drop is required a second extraction window needs to be made at an adequate distance from the first window, to ensure the module length is sufficient to reach the customer premises. This would usually be done by entering another tapping box further down the street. A drop tube is then installed into the box and the fibre is extracted and fed through the drop tube directly to the customers premises. Drop tube cables are installed and sealed into the tapping box via multi-way port bungs. No splice trays or connectors are required with this system. Drop tube cables are installed into the tapping bothrough rubber sealing bungs. Pole Mounted Tapping Boxes Extracted modules are not connectorised or spliced. They are routed directly through a drop tube to the customer premises. NOTE: The extracted length needs to be sufficient to reach the customer premises. October

11 Aerial Retractanet with Spliced Drop At each splice box, and on a when required basis, the selected fibre module is cut and retracted over 1.5 metres using a special cutting tool. Drop cables are installed into the splice box via multi-way port bungs and spliced directly to the extracted fibres. Splice trays are required in the splice box, but no connectors are required with this system. Drop cables are stripped and installed into the closure through rubber sealing bungs. Pole Mounted Splice Boxes Drop cables are not connectorised. They are spliced to the extracted fibres. October

12 Aerial Retractanet with Quickdraw Drop At each termination box, the selected fibre module is cut and retracted over 1.5 metres using a special tool. The extracted module is spliced to a pigtail which is coiled within the top section of the termination box. The other end of the pigtail is plugged into an adapter housed in a second compartment in the joint box. At a later date (home connection), the bottom compartment of the termination box is opened and the Quickdraw drop cable is installed. To install the drop cable the protective cap is removed from the assembly and the connector is fed through the port in the bottom of the termination box and plugged into the other side of the adapter. The locking nut of the drop cable adapter is tightened to provide a water tight seal between the drop cable and the joint box. Quickdraw pre-connectorised drop cables are installed and routed to the home Protective cap for transportation.
