2 GENERAL RULES The cntent must be apprpriate fr ages 13 and lder. 1 70% f the used images must cntain csplays base dn (Japanese) animatins r vide games. They can als be based n American, Eurpean r Krean animatin 2, but we strngly prefer the use f Japanese animatin (anime). 75% f the vide must cntain music. Trailer pardies are an exceptin t this rule. If yu are using audi directly frm a series, this can be in any language. Bth raw and dubbed audi is allwed. Submissins may nt cntain title screens, lgs, intrductins r credits befre and/ rafter the actual vide. 3 If yur submissin cntains images that cme directly frm a series, they can t cntain the fllwing elements: DVD- r fansub subtitles and/r karake lyrics. 4 Watermarks r lgs f whatever rigin (TV channels, Crunchyrll, ) Try t limit the number f spilers in yur vide as much as pssible (fr example imprtant characters dying, imprtant parts f the plt being revealed, ) If they are necessary fr yur cncept, yu need t annunce these spilers BEFORE the vide is shwn. 1 In shrt this means n sexually tinted cntent, realistic r generus amunts f vilence (extreme amunts f bld and/r gre) and n inapprpriate language. 2 (e.g.. Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teen Titans, My little pny,...) 3 We prvide a standardized, unifrm title- and creditscreen fr every submissin, whether r nt it makes the cut. When the vide cntains ne f the mentined elements, they will be remved and replaced by ur standardized screens. 4 It s permitted t use yur wn subtitles r lgs in the vide when it s imprtant fr the verall cncept f the CMV. 3 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Length f the vide must be between 1 and 4 minutes. We accept vides with the fllwing specs: Frmat: MP4 r MKV Reslutin: 1280x720 r 1920x1080 fr widescreen; 960x720 r 1440x1080 fr fullscreen. Please take in accunt that the aspect rati f the screen is 4:3. If yu use a 16:9 rati there will be tw black brders visible. Vide Cdec: H264, 2 mbps r higher Audi Cdec: AAC, 160 kbps r higher N defects in the audi- and vide quality The maximum allwed file size is 500 MB (except if yu ve been given permissin t enter a file with a higher size). 4 PARTICIPATION RULES The deadline fr entering the cntest is Friday 13th f July. Yu can still submit yur vides until Sunday 15 th f July t 23h59. Yu can jin the cntest by filling ut the electrnic frm prvided n ur website. Yu will be asked t prvide a dwnlad link fr yur vide (e.g. Drpbx, Ggle Drive, WeTransfer, ). YuTube links are nt accepted. Participants can nly enter with up t TWO vides. Vide s must fllw ur naming frmat, which cnsists f this: CMVcmpetitin_titlesubmissin_nameeditr. Make sure yu use yur wn name fr this. It s allwed t wrk tgether n the CMV. There is n limit n the amunt f peple wh can jin in n the prject, but due t circumstances in rganizing the event nly 3 editrs can be accepted per prject. The vide will cunt as an entry fr each f the editrs. If the entry cntains vide r images f multiple peple, it is required t als deliver a "permissin fr public shwing" signed by each persn. An example f this dcument can be fund n ur website in the AMV/CMV FAQ. Yur submissin must be yur wn (r yur grup s) wrk and nbdy else s. Material cpied frm ther wrks will immediately disqualify yu r yur grup and might prhibit yu frm entering future editins f the CMV cntest. Vides that have been entered in previus years can t jin again. This als means rewrked r remastered versins f previus vides are nt allwed. 5 BEOORDELINGSCRITERIA When judging the CMV, the fllwing criteria will be used: 1. General (ut f 10): Hw pleasant was the viewing f the vide? Des it speak t a large audience r a small niche? What kind f cntent was present in the vide? 2. Originality (ut f 10): Hw riginal was the vide? Which series were used? Have they tried new things, r can yu find similar vides n the internet? Hw memrable is this vide? 3. Editing and technical input (ut f 10): Hw gd was the editing f the vide? (e.g. transitins between scenes, ) Did they use special techniques? (e.g. lip-syncing, special effects r ther additins t make the experience mre pleasant,...) Hw well did these elements fit the CMV when it s being watched? (less is mre!) 4. Adjustment t music (ut f 10): Hw well did the music and vide crrespnd? Did the vide succeed in transferring the md/emtin f the music? 5. Vide and audi quality (either ut f 10): Hw gd did the vide lk/hw gd did it sund? Is the material f high quality r lwer quality? 6. Jury s chice (ut f 15): Every member f the jury will give a persnal scre ut f 5 n every vide, which is brught back t a scre ut f Audience s chice (ut f 25): A panel f 20 randm cnventin visitrs will be chsen and will grade the vide ut f 5. 6 Our available prizes, divided int 2 categries, are: 5 Standard cmpetitin prizes (Winner & runner up): The scres f categries 1 7 will be added up t a scre ut f 100. This will be used fr the final classificatin. 6 Audience prize: Scres f categry 7 will be cunted t make a scre ut f 50. If there is a tie in any f these categries, the vide with the highest chice scres (6) will be chsen. If this still results in a tie, the vide with the highest audience scre wins. 5 Depending n the amunt f submissins, sme f these prizes may nt be available. 6 If yu chse t send in 2 vides and these bth win the standard price, ur runner-up price will g t the fllwing participant ut f the participatin list. 7 OTHER RULES Organizers and jury have a right t refuse a submissin fr hnest and defendable reasns, nt prvided in the rules. Atsusacn and Ganbar VZW d nt take respnsibility fr using 3rd party material in this cntest. Legal respnsibility fr unauthrized use, r cpyright infringement, are the participant s respnsibility. By participating in this cntest, yu give Ganbar VZW the uncnditinal and irrevcable right t use, share r shw these vides withut limit, withut expecting a cmpensatin in whatever frm. When shwing r using these vides we will ALWAYS mentin the riginal editr (and every ther team member) as being the riginal authrs. Presence at the cnventin is nt required t jin this cntest. We d, hwever, strngly advcate fr being present when the vides are shwn. (That way, yu can persnally see the reactins f the public and persnally receive yur prize shuld yu win.) It is pssible that nt every submissin will be shwn n Atsusacn, due t time limitatins. Hwever, all submissins will be judged by ur jury. The highest scring vides will be shwn n the cnventin. If yur submissin is chsen fr viewing at Atsusacn, there will be reserved seats fr yu and yur team members. T accept these seats, yu need t be present at least 10 minutes befre the start f the shwing.
