1 Service Objectives ACB-ADP Objectives 1. Plan schedule and implement the ADP Conference in conjunction with the ACB annual conference in St. Louis, MO by July. Responsible: ADP Conference Committee chaired by Jo Lynn Bailey- Page/Susan Glass 2. Plan, schedule and implement the BADIES contest for -- application process open in Fall with awards by February 2019) Responsible: BADIES contest sub-committee: chaired by Susan Glass 3. Maintain current information on the acb.org/adp website with at least two new articles each month highlighting audio description activities through December 31. Responsible: ADP Web Master Fred Brack with support for content from the ADP Steering Committee 4. Maintain audio description listings of all television programs on the major broadcast networks and cable networks with updates each week for and twice-per-year updates on cumulative statistical analysis through December 31. Maintain current listing of audio described programs on DVDs, Netflix, amazon and itunes with at least monthly updates through. Responsible: Fred Brack 6. Maintain current listing of known performing arts centers/theaters, museums, and national parks offering audio description services during with a goal of increasing listing by five sites in each area and the number of states represented (currently at 21 states represented under Museums; 32 states represented under Performing Arts) Responsible: Fred Brack and ADP Performing Arts and Museums subcommittee 7. Plan, schedule and implement the ADP Awards with final selection by May 31, Responsible: ADP Awards sub-committee

Prepare and publish at least one article, announcement or report each month highlighting the ADP on ACB Leadership and ACBL list during Responsible: Susan Glass (writing) and ADP Committee for content 9. Prepare and publish three articles involving audio description in the Braille Forum and e forum during Responsible: Susan Glass and ADP Committee 10. Participate in at least three state affiliates conference and conventions promoting and educating the ACB membership on audio description activities during Responsible: ADP Steering committee and ACB Director Joel Snyder 11. Monitor, maintain and grow the audio description conversation discussion list during Responsible: Fred Brack and Joel Snyder 12. Maintain and promote social media through Facebook and Twitter with at least two new Audio Description postings each month during Responsible: Fred Brack with content support from ADP Steering committee 13. Plan, schedule, market and conduct Audio Description Training Institute courses during Responsible: Joel Snyder 14. Contract, plan and implement the Audio Described Tour of the Washington D.C. Smithsonian Institution/Museum of Natural History Insect Zoo by July Responsible: Joel Snyder and Eric Bridges 15. Contact the 9/11 Museum in New York to express concern regarding the availability of audio description and other access services, including films, videos or interactive displays and staff access/audio description training, on behalf of sitors who are blind or have low vision by September Responsible: PA/Museums Committee and Joel Snyder

3 16. Develop and distribute a white paper on the status of audio description availability on cruise lines by February Responsible: PA/Museums Committee and Joel Snyder 17. Finalize and distribute a survey to AD consumers regarding accessibility at National Park Service facilities by May Responsible: PA/Museums Committee 18. Ask sub-committees to provide quarterly reports on activity to be shared on the ADP website by July Responsible: all sub-committees Advocacy objectives 19. Advocate for Audio Description worldwide with contacts at five international organizations promoting Audio Description by December 30, Responsible: Joel Snyder with support from ADP Steering Committee. 20. Create and distribute, in conjunction with the World Blind Union, an international survey (available in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese) on the status of AD activity in individual countries world-wide 21. Maintain/monitor ADP subcommittee to work with other Audio Description entities and ACVREP to establish certification guidelines for Audio Description by December 31, Responsible: Certification subcommittee, Joel Snyder and Dan Spoone. 22. Activate ADP subcommittee focusing on 508 regulations regarding federal agencies and Audio Description by April 30, Responsible: 508 subcommittee, Joel Snyder and Dan Spoone. 23. Advocate for the implementation of the FCC regulation on accessible television set-top boxes; educate ACB members re. the FCC complaint process with ACB coordinating groups of complaints/supporting 3 to 5 individual advocacy requests for assistance and tracking/quantifying claims arising from CVAA regulations with the goal of resolving issues in 75% of claims addressed throughout. Responsible: Media subcommittee with support from Joel Snyder, Eric Bridges and Kim Charlson

Advocate for the FCC to implement a Disability Advisory Council Subcommittee for Video Programming recommendation for an accessible directory for all described television programs facilitating the reposting of the data and maintaining an accurate listing of all audio described programming on the ADP website / develop a resolution for consideration at the July ACB Convention Responsible: Anthony Stephens, Carl Richardson, Joel Snyder 25. Advocate with the FCC to create a database of contacts for consumers at distributors of video programming responsible for audio description issues, similar to the rule that exists for closed captioning / develop a resolution for consideration at the July ACB Convention by July 2087 Responsible: Carl Richardson 26. Work with ACB national office to promote DOJ s ruling on audio description in movie theaters with an emphasis on the rules pertaining to equipment and training throughout Responsible: Anthony Stephens and Eric Bridges 27. Work with leading experts in both audio description and television broadcasts to create a fact-finding study (a report with accessible graphics and text) on the issue of creating a dedicated audio channel for audio description by September 30, Responsible: Matt Kaplowitz and Joel Snyder, Brian Charlson and Carl Richardson 28. Collaborate with Amazon to create a mechanism on ECHO/Alexa to request a listing of all programs with AD and facilitate initiation of programs with AD by voice commands by December 31, Responsible: Carl Richardson, Fred Brack 29. Work with Disability Rights Advocates through the use of structured negotiations to approach HULU to make its video streaming platform accessible and to include all of the shows that used AD on broadcast to include it with HULU online as well by September 30, Responsible: Carl Richardson, Fred Brack 30. Develop a letter from ACB to Lion s Gate encouraging the addition of AD tracks by August 31,
