2 A versatile digital receiver with a guaranteed future has been developed to transmit the best possible TV signal to every TV set in the network in a secure manner. The difference between and many other receivers is that has been developed for professional use. It is equipped with, amongst other tings, a thermostat regulated fan, software with auto start and an in-house developed Watchdog which automatically restarts the receiver in case of power cuts and other errors. The receiver are equipped with a common interface, a CA-module (CAM) is used for the different access systems. can also be ordered with a built-in professional modulator which is adapted to the receiver. This enables easy installation and mounting in small spaces. Important! Digital signals place a great strain on the equipment s LNB. Old microwave heads often show insufficient phase noise values. This can lead to frozen pictures or frozen text. Therefore you should always replace old microwave heads when you add a digital receiver. IMPORTANT! Never open the receiver Place the receiver in a ventilated room The receiver must not be exposed to liquids Menu options and appearance can be changed in later software versions Table of contents Front Back Smart card Programming unit Menu overview Programming Information menu PID setting Menu information Error log Technical data Built-in modulator Broadband amplifier

5 Smart card DVB/CI-SOCKET CA-MODULE SMARTCARD A CA module connector is located at the front. This is used for channels which are coded in different transmission systems e.g. Conax, Viaccess, and Irdeto. Insert the programme card into the CA module. The gold-coloured interface on the card must point towards the front of the module. Insert the module with the programme card into the front of DT DISCONNECT THE WATCH-DOG When a start up and update of the smartcard is needed the watch-dog function can be disconnected to speed up the update. Procedure: When a program is selected press the MENU button, when the smartcard is updated press MENU button again to return back from setup menu, the program name will be shown in the display. Important: When receiving free channels, Free To Air, the CA module must not be connected. CA modules for different coding systems can be obtained from the programme companies. OSD information on the programme card may differ, depending on the coding system being used. 53
6 Programming unit HP-01 is a portable programming unit which is used for the programming of the QPSK receiver s frequency, symbol speed, FEC, and other settings.
