7 CABLING TECHNOLOGY FOR HIGH-RESOLUTION ANALOG AUDIO INTERCONNECTIONS Low-Loss Dielectric Compounds The dielectric material insulates each conductor and affects the high-frequency loss of the cable. Gepco Brand cables utilize only low-loss gas/polymer, polyethylene or high-quality PVC dielectric compounds. 100% Foil or 95% Braided Shield In addition to the pair twisting, noise rejection in balanced cables is achieved with a 100% aluminum/mylar shield or a tight-angled braid shield.
