Innovative Education Grounded In Tradition. Brand Standards INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS
As the current stewards of Schools, the purpose of these branding guidelines is to provide guidance for each stakeholder to present our institutional branding. If every message comes from the same conceptual core, we will present an institution whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts. By using the tools and guidelines contained within these Brand Standards, we create a unique look and feel that will make Schools recognizable to all audiences. wearebeechwood. For questions about the Schools Brand Standards, please contact the office of the Superintendent at (859)

Brand Standards Name and Logo Brand Assets The name and logo are two of the School s most important and visible brand assets, and we all share responsibility to ensure that they are used effectively. Independent Schools (BIS) is the primary name and logo of the school. Elementary School (BES) and High School (BHS) are the secondary logos and may be be used when required to identify the appropriate school. In normal day-to-day written and verbal communications, and after the first reference, Independent Schools can be referred to as: ; The District; School(s) ; or with the appropriate abbreviated initials of BIS, BES, BHS. Primary: Independent Schools The Independent Schools logo incorporates four graphic elements: the cupola; the name (title case); the center keyline; and the title, INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS (all caps). These four items must not be separated when representing the School. See Reproduction. INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS When representing the complete district, only the Independent Schools logo should be used. When identification calls for distinction of Elementary or High School, the secondary logos may be used. Secondary: Elementary High School ELEMENTARY HIGH SCHOOL
3 Safe Area Allow minimum clearance of d-height (indicated by the light grey area) around the logo. This height is measured from top to bottom of the lowercase d in. This will allow the logo to stand out cleanly. In addition, the safe area must be preserved near a cut or folded edge. INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS d Reversed In Red When possible, use the full-color logo against a solid white background; or the reversed full-color logo against a solid red (refer to approved color specifications). INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS Logo In Black INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS Reproduction Attempts to recreate the School s primary or secondary logos or any of the School s supporting logo is strictly prohibited. Graphic files approved for reproduction should be obtained from the Office of the Superintendent.
Brand Standards Logo Do s and Don ts Clear Branding on all Official Materials DO seek approval from School office on all materials representing the school brand. DON T allow vendors to make decisions regarding how the brand is used. Clearance and Cropping DO leave ample room around the logo. DON T crop the logo or align it to the edge of the page. See Safe Area on p3. Color DO use the logo in full-color against a red or white background whenever possible. DON T use any unapproved colors or color combinations. See Logo Colors on p.9 Integrity DO maintain the design integrity of the logo. DON T add other design elements to the logo (e.g. outlines, strokes, or dropshadow), or reconfigure the logo design. One Brand DO place the logo at a safe distance from other logos. DON T use the logo as part of a sentence, phrase, or headline.
5 Placement DO integrate the logo as a key component into your design. DON T add the logo in any remaining space as an afterthought. Production DO use approved graphic files supplied by the Office of the Superintendent. DON T attempt to reproduce the schools primary or secondary logos or any supporting logo of Independent Schools. Proportion DO maintain the proportions of the logo. DON T alter, stretch, or condense the logo or re-align any of the logo components. Size DO use the correct size logo. DON T resize the logo to smaller than 1.5 inches in width. INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS 1.5
