Getting Started 1.1 Introduction Thank you for choosing the DVB-T Hybrid X8000MT2TV tuner and video capture card. This product turns your PC into a powerful desktop multimedia system quickly and easily. Capture video and still images and experience real-time MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 recording. Watch both digital TV and analog TV or video at the same device! Quick Installation Guide 1.4 System Requirements To successfully use the DVB-T Hybrid solution, please ensure that your system meets the following requirements: Pentium III 1 GHz or faster PC MPEG-1 real-time encoding(analog):piii 1 GHz or AMD Athlon 1 or higher MPEG-2 real-time encoding(analog): P4 1.6GHz or AMD Athlon 1.6 or higher DVD real-time encoding(analog): P4 2GHz or AMD Athlon 2GHz or higher HDTV: Pentium M 1.6GHz or higher 256 MB RAM (minimum), 512 MB RAM recommended VGA chipset with at least 32 MB RAM and DirectX 8.1 support, DirectX 9.0 support recommended (HDTV) CD-ROM or DVD drive Windows 2000 or Windows XP 100 MB available hard disk space for installation, Additional free space on your Hard disk for recording and editing files AC97 compatible sound card for audio Speakers for audio output TV antenna or TV cable for analog TV TV antenna or cable for digital TV

5 2. Input & Output Connections 2.1 DVB-T Hybrid Connections The DVB-T Hybrid card supports S-Video, Composite and Analog TV input. See the diagram below for connection details. TV: Connects to your home antenna or cable for Analog TV and Digital Terrestrial TV AV Cable: Connect the AV Cable to the 9-pin connector of the DVB-T Hybrid S-Video: S-Video input for external devices like VCRs or camcorders Composite Video: Composite video input for external devices like VCRs or camcorders Audio In: Audio cable connects to audio input port. Audio Out: Audio output and sound card input connect to microphone. Remote: Connects to the IR remote cable Connect antenna to the connector converter

7 3. Drivers Installation 3 Driver and Software installation Step1: OS will remind a new hardware-- New Hardware Device. Please choose Cancel, Step2: When insert CD, OS will promote setup automatically. Insert the driver CD into CDROM, browse the CD, Click X8000 or ,

8 Step3: Click Software Install, then press next to continue User s Manual Step4: Click next to continue installation Step5: Choose rote for installation if you want to change the recommended, please click browse and click next (Recommended is better)

9 Step6: Choose installation parts in multiple chooses and click next Step7: Program starts to copy files.

10 Step8: Installing PCI Video Device, Click Continue Anyway Step9: Installing PCI Audio Device, Click Continue Anyway

12 Step12: Click Yes after installs Windows Media Format9 Step13: After Windows Media please click OK to follow the guide of Total Media2, Installation of Total Media, Choose setup language

13 Step14: Click next to continue installation Step15: Click Yes after installs Arcsoft TotalMedia

14 Step16: Choose rote for installation if you want to change the recommended, please click Browse and click next (Recommended is better) Step17: Please select a program folder.

15 Step18: Program starts to copy files. Step19: Click finish, finish Arcsoft TotalMedia software install.

16 Step20: Click finish to DVBT Application finish. Step21: You will see DVB-T application icons as bellow Step22: When all install are finished, please check on Control panel, select System System properties Device Manager, you can see three devices for the new installed drivers.

17 PCI DVB-T Device PCI Video Device PCI Audio Device FAQ 1. Can not lock any program channel when auto scan. 1. Please check if there is DVBT broad casting program in your area; 2. Please check if your signal condition is too weak, try to move the antenna around and re-scan again, it is better to move the antenna near the window 3. Please check you connect the antenna and tightly 4. Please check you select right country in the Total Media software scan function page. 5. Please try to use an outdoor antenna and scan once more. 2. I do find some channels,, but this time I get fewer channels than last time 1. Maybe you moved antenna s position or angle, try to find the better position and keep the antenna vertical 2. The weather also can also affect your receiving signal quality, if the weather is bad today, that is the reason 3. In some new start DVBT broadcasting area, the provider of DVBT broadcasting, may change their broadcasting power from day to day, try to find a best power strength. 4. If you put a CAN of cola on the antenna, that will make signal weak, please move them away. 3. When I watch program, Screen blacked out when playing or freezes on first picture. Unfortunately, you are in a weak signal condition. You can see that from the Yellow light on the top of X8000T. The reason is same as question 2.

18 4. Video playing but Audio failed Please check the sound card or the volume setting. 5. Remote control does not work 1. Check remote control batteries. 2. Check remote receiver: the light will be on when receive, that is showing it is getting signal. 3. Check if you are in 5m between the X8000T, don t keep to far away. 4. Please point the receive window, that is to say, the angle of the receiving and sending is important 6. Watching TV some time freeze or slow, also audio stroke 1. Please check your PC is not Pentium 3 or 2, X8000T need a high CPU to decoding DVBT stream 2. Please check you VGA driver is properly installed and updated 3. Please don t run high CPU loading software such as game and CAD.
